Many members of the Farrell family came over to greet Audrey and her group.
Liberty quietly asked Zachary, “Are we good? No surprises, right?”
Zachary responded softly, “Don’t worry, everything’s fine, sister.”
Liberty exchanged a glance with him and nodded after receiving a confirming look from Clive.
Audrey briefly conversed with the family members and introduced the younger generation, particularly Liberty.
One of the clan members smiled and said, “Liberty, we already know each other quite well.”
Liberty returned the smile, acknowledging their familiarity.
Many members of the Farrell family had noticed Liberty’s actions in Jensburg, and some had even secretly allied themselves with her.
At that moment, Clarissa’s voice interrupted, “Since everyone’s here, why don’t you come inside? It’s a bit cold out here.”
Clarissa and Holden had been waiting inside for Audrey’s group to arrive. After a while passed without anyone coming in, they inquired and found out that Audrey’s group was lingering in the yard, joking that they were afraid there might be bombs or gasoline inside the house.
Clarissa was furious. She had actually contemplated burying a bomb. However, Mr. Dunn had warned her that creating a bomb would attract too much attention, and the police might arrive before they could execute their plan. This would not only jeopardize their attempt to eliminate Audrey and her group but also lead to their arrest.
Clarissa had also considered pouring gasoline around the house and igniting it to trap everyone, regardless of whether they were inside or outside. She thought that once the fire spread, the smoke would suffocate most of them before they had a chance to escape.
Clarissa suspected that her plan had somehow been discovered. But
If Audrey was aware, why would she bring her relatives and friends to the event? She would have called the police instead.
When Clarissa and Holden arrived, the group fell silent.
“Mom,” Kathryn greeted her.
Clarissa lightly scolded, “Kathryn, really? You didn’t even invite your cousin and her family inside. It’s cold out here.”
After reprimanding her daughter, Clarissa smiled at Mr. Jimenez and said, “Mr. Jimenez, it’s been a long time. I didn’t expect you to still be around.”
Mr. Jimenez quickly retorted, “It hasn’t been that long. I saw you just yesterday or the day before. You knew I was alive all along, Clarissa. Stop pretending you didn’t know. Who are you trying to fool?”
Clarissa was momentarily taken aback by his bluntness.
“You killed the previous matriarch. When Audrey and I returned, we attempted to pay our respects, but you didn’t even allow us to do that. Have you forgotten, or are you pretending out of guilt? Maybe you have Alzheimer’s. I’m nearly 100, and I don’t have Alzheimer’s yet.”
Clarissa tried to regain her composure, saying, “Mr. Jimenez, you’re acting like a powder keg today. When did I ever…? The Farrell family may not recall those events, but I can help you remember, much like someone having an epileptic episode.”
Lilian smirked slightly, causing Clarissa’s expression to tighten. She still had toxins in her system and was on the verge of another episode in front of everyone.
“Have you forgotten already? Or are you pretending out of guilt? Perhaps you have Alzheimer’s. I’m nearly 100, and I don’t even have it yet.” Clarissa struggled to maintain her composure and replied, “Mr. Jimenez, you’re behaving as if you’re filled with gunpowder today. When have I ever…? The Farrell family may not remember those events, but I can help jog your memory, just like someone experiencing an epileptic seizure.” Lilian smirked slightly, causing Clarissa’s expression to tighten. She still had toxins in her system, and if she suffered another episode in front of all these people—twitching and drooling as before—it would completely damage her reputation. The reporters, keenly observing, continued to snap photos. It became evident that Clarissa, the current matriarch of the Farrell family, had indeed murdered her own sister to secure her position!
