Chapter 3697
Kevin was in the president’s office at Queen Enterprise, keeping his fiancée, Hayden, company. Liberty had returned to work after several days away, facing a mountain of tasks that needed her immediate attention so she could enjoy the New Year’s holiday and return to Wiltspoon. With Sonny and Serenity still at FC Manor, Liberty considered flying to Annenburg with Zachary to pick them up before heading back for the New Year. After a hectic year, this holiday was her only opportunity to relax, and she planned to address the Farrell family matters afterward.
Liberty was aware that once the New Year arrived, her schedule would become hectic again; she intended to be at Serenity’s side when she gave birth, waiting just outside the delivery room. To make time for that occasion, she needed to complete all her essential tasks in advance. However, at the moment, instead of working in the general manager’s office, Liberty was video chatting with Sonny.
Sonny had just spent an hour with Titus, copying the names of medications, and he was feeling quite drained. Initially, his handwriting was decent—though large and somewhat clumsy, as he was just beginning to learn. However, as fatigue set in, his writing became messy and uneven, and by the end, he could barely fit a few words on the page. In contrast, Titus, who had more experience, managed to keep his handwriting neat and patient throughout the session.
After an hour, Sonny decided to take a break, borrowed Serenity’s phone, and video-called Liberty to proudly showcase his writing. “Mom, look! Does my handwriting look good?” he asked excitedly. Liberty smiled and complimented him, saying, “Not bad at all! For someone just learning to write, it’s very good.” Serenity, teasing from the sidelines, chimed in, “He’s not showing you the last part—his writing was so messy that I couldn’t even decipher the words!” Sonny blushed in response.
Embarrassed, Sonny quickly reached over to cover Serenity’s mouth. “Auntie, please don’t talk! I’m speaking to Mom.” Serenity laughed. “Alright, alright, I’ll stop. You talk to your mom.” Liberty chuckled on the phone. “You did an amazing job, Sonny. Writing for a whole hour is impressive for someone your age.” Sonny beamed with pride. However, he suddenly remembered Titus’s work and said, “Mom, Titus writes better than I do.” Liberty reassured him, “That’s because Titus started earlier and practices more. Don’t worry—you’ll improve with time. Just keep at it, and soon you’ll be just as good as he is.” Comforted by his mother’s words, Sonny smiled again. He was naturally cheerful and quick to forget anything that upset him. Both Liberty and Serenity always reminded him that, at his age, happiness was what mattered most and that learning would come in its own time. They also advised him not to compare himself to Titus, who had a different background and a tougher life. Titus had to bear the burden of a family feud, which forced him to mature more quickly. In contrast, Sonny was much luckier. He enjoyed a happy childhood, and compared to most kids his age, he was already doing quite well.
