Chapter 3701-3705
Married At First Sight Chapter 3701
Serenity nodded, feeling relieved. “I’m glad it’s over, and I’m happy everyone is okay.”
With the issue resolved, Serenity felt at ease. She asked, “Sister, will you be able to return next week? When is Aunt coming back?”
“She’ll probably return during my New Year’s holiday. Grandpa Jimenez wants to stay in Jensburg a bit longer. He has lived there for decades, so it feels like home to him.”
Mr. Jimenez was elderly and in poor health. The doctor estimated he might have two to three years left, if not less—possibly as soon as next year. He wished to spend his final days in Jensburg, and after his passing, he requested Audrey to bring his ashes back to be buried near the Farrell family’s private cemetery so he could continue watching over his master.
Liberty added, “Zachary and Clive should be back in a couple of days. Both families have businesses in Jensburg, so they’ll be checking on their subsidiaries and hotels.”
Serenity smiled, “Now that I know everything is settled, I’m not in a rush for him to return. How is Kathryn doing? Is she okay?”
Liberty hesitated before responding. “Her mother just died—how could she be okay? No matter how cruel Clarissa was, she was still Kathryn’s mother. Clarissa feared a fierce confrontation and wanted to protect Kathryn from harm. She even tried to send her away multiple times. Her love for Kathryn was real.”
Even though their relationship wasn’t deep, a bond still existed between mother and daughter. Despite Kathryn’s strong morals, she was grieving. After her mother’s death, Kathryn could only hope that her cousins and their family would let go of their hatred. If any atonement was needed, Kathryn was willing to take on that responsibility for her deceased mother.
Liberty continued, “Kathryn’s biological father was shot but is expected to survive. He’s still in the hospital. No one else was injured, except for Clarissa’s assistant, who also took her own life shortly after her.” Clarissa’s assistant had been fiercely loyal, even in death. In contrast, Grandpa Jimenez did not follow his master to the grave; instead, he sought revenge for her death. With Clarissa gone, his vengeance was fulfilled, allowing the Farrell family to return to normal. However, without that purpose, Grandpa Jimenez’s health began to decline, which is why the doctor indicated that he wouldn’t have much longer to live. Even at nearly 100 years old, it hadn’t been long since their reunion, and everyone hoped he would live even longer—ideally until he turned 120. “Once Kathryn’s emotions settle, I’ll visit her at her company,” Liberty said. She and Kathryn had a lot in common. If it weren’t for the conflict between their families, they could have been good friends. Although Kathryn was technically older, Liberty felt like the older sister. Serenity nodded. “Yes, let’s check on her. What did Aunt say?” “Aunt said we’ll handle everything after New Year’s. With the holiday so close, there’s no rush.” Clarissa was gone, and Kathryn now understood the truth—that her mother had indeed murdered her aunts to seize control of the family. When Kathryn met with Audrey, she stated that if this were true, she wouldn’t take over the Farrell family. Instead, she would return everything to Audrey’s side of the family. Whether Audrey wanted to take over or allow the younger generation, like Liberty, to manage things was entirely up to her. Kathryn didn’t care; she simply wanted to return what wasn’t hers back to Audrey. Serenity said, “Don’t
“Don’t worry; let’s focus on the positive news about you and Brother Duncan first.”
Liberty suddenly fell silent.
Serenity asked, “Sister, what’s wrong? Haven’t you made a decision yet? Didn’t you mention that you and Brother Duncan would make it official before the New Year?”
Duncan was already planning the proposal.
“I’ve thought about it,” Liberty replied, “but when it comes time to actually do it, I become nervous. I’m unsure if Sonny will accept it. I’ll be spending a lot of time in Jensburg—will Duncan be okay with that?”
She took a moment before continuing. “Thinking about it is one thing, but acting on it is another. Duncan and I haven’t been together for very long—certainly not as long as I was with Hank. Hank and I were together for years, but in the end… Seren, I know Duncan is different from Hank, yet after going through one divorce, it’s hard not to overthink things. If this marriage doesn’t work out, I doubt I’ll believe in marriage again. I won’t want to marry anymore.”
Liberty had carefully considered her decision to marry Duncan. He was kind, treated Sonny as his own, and genuinely touched her heart, which is why she was willing to give marriage another chance.
Serenity reassured her, “Sister, follow your heart. When people marry, they hope to spend their lives together, facing whatever challenges arise. However, we know that not every couple survives tough times. The best we can do is cherish the present and hope for the future, wishing for our husbands to grow old with us. When Zachary and I first got together, we weren’t certain we’d last a lifetime. Life is long, and we don’t know what challenges lie ahead. But I believe that as long as we work together, we can handle whatever comes our way. I believe we’ll grow old together. You and Brother Duncan…”
Duncan has already been through a lot, which makes you value and trust your love for each other even more. Liberty truly loved Duncan, which is why she felt so anxious about their future. If she didn’t care, she wouldn’t be so worried about what might happen.
Liberty smiled and said, “You’re right. I’m overthinking this. Duncan is nothing like Hank. He saw me at my worst and never judged me, unlike Hank.” During her time with Hank, Liberty had gained weight and lost her confidence. However, with Duncan, she had transformed, regaining both her figure and her self-esteem. Duncan had witnessed her at her lowest point and still treated her with love and respect. Why would he change now?
“Serenity, please don’t tell Zachary what I said. I don’t want him to worry Duncan,” Liberty requested. Serenity promised, “I won’t say a word.” This was a private conversation between sisters. When Serenity had doubts about her relationship with Zachary, Liberty had been there to support and advise her, helping her make the right choices. Now, it was Serenity’s turn to guide Liberty through her uncertainty, just as Liberty had done for her.
In Chapter 3703 of “Married At First Sight,” Serenity remarked, “Anyone can see how much Brother Duncan cares for Sonny. Even someone who can’t see would feel his love for him. He’s the perfect stepfather and treats Sonny like his own son. Sonny is now much closer to Duncan than to his biological father.”
“I know, Serenity, I know. I won’t let my thoughts overwhelm me again. Duncan and I have been married for years, and we’ve known each other for so long. We completely understand each other. I don’t regret marrying him!” Liberty felt momentarily confused, but after her conversation with Serenity, she regained her clarity and calm.
She and Duncan had faced resistance from their families, but after Duncan’s car…
Following the accident, the Lewis family ceased their objections, and Duncan is now on the road to recovery. Even if Duncan visits their home, his family will no longer oppose them. Should they have a daughter in the future, she will take Liberty’s surname, and Duncan’s family will accept that as well. What more could Liberty worry about? She is ready to embrace this new chapter of her life and find happiness again.
Liberty asked, “Zachary called you, right?”
Serenity replied, “Yes, he shared everything with me. I didn’t know at first; I assumed you didn’t want me to worry, so I pretended not to know and took Sonny on vacation.”
After saying this, Serenity felt a twinge of guilt. “I sometimes feel useless. When you needed help, I wasn’t there, and you had to handle everything for me. Zachary told me that Clarissa tried to take you hostage. If I had been there and she tried anything with me, I would have knocked her down.”
Serenity felt both angry and scared when Zachary informed her of this. She was furious that Clarissa, near death, attempted to drag Liberty down with her. She was terrified of what could have happened if Liberty had fallen into Clarissa’s hands. Even if she had survived, the experience would have been incredibly painful. Thankfully, Lilian intervened and saved Liberty.
Lilian had reassured Serenity not to worry, as there were enough people present to protect Liberty. When Lilian returns, Serenity intends to thank her personally. If something had happened to Liberty, Serenity would have never found happiness again, and it would have created a rift between her and Zachary due to his choice to withhold the truth.
Liberty smiled, “There’s no need for you to worry. We had already set a trap for Clarissa and were just waiting for her to fall into it. Now that everything is resolved, you can relax. Don’t let this stress affect your sleep, and remember to eat well too. You’re carrying my first child.”
“nephew, and I love him just as much as I love Sonny.” Serenity smiled. “Sister, I may occasionally skip meals, but I would never do that when it comes to the baby.” Even if she didn’t eat, the baby would draw nutrients from her body. However, she was determined not to go hungry, especially since Jane at the Johnson house ensured she received nourishing soup every day. Jane was concerned about her losing weight, particularly with Zachary’s return on the horizon. Serenity felt a mix of emotions, unsure whether to laugh or cry. “Well, let’s discuss this more when I return. I have work to finish and need to go to the Farrell Group this afternoon. Kathryn should be back at the office today.” Since Clarissa’s death, they had left the Farrell family mansion and hadn’t gone back. With only a few days left in the year, there was still so much to accomplish. Even though Liberty would officially take over the Farrell Group, she wouldn’t move into the mansion right away.
Married At First Sight Chapter 3704 – Liberty typically stayed at the Fortress Hotel or sometimes at the company. She was considering purchasing a house in Jensburg so that Duncan and Sonny wouldn’t have to stay in a hotel during their visits. They planned to discuss it further after moving into the Farrell family mansion.
After the call, Serenity felt uplifted. She set her phone aside and was about to head downstairs when she spotted Jane.
With a smile, she asked, “When did you arrive?”
Jane replied, “I’ve been here for a while. I noticed you were on the phone with your sister, so I didn’t want to interrupt. Is everything alright?”
Jane was already aware of what occurred that night, as her brother and sister-in-law were involved. While she didn’t play a significant role, she was there to support Audrey and the others. Sariyah and her husband were also present, simply observing how events unfolded.
Jimenez and others were also in Jensburg, and Sariyah wished to meet her master. Meanwhile, Dakota had returned to Meadspring with Sariyah and her husband, along with Ezequiel and others. Bianca had gone back to the Du family after being away for a long time; if she didn’t return home soon, her elders would scold her.
As for Jane and Evan, there was no urgency. Evan remained unaware that Jane was actually Fox, or Abby Du. Although he had his suspicions, he had no proof. The one who should be concerned was Evan, not her. When she had wanted to marry Evan as Abby, he rejected her, claiming he didn’t love her, despite his grandmother choosing her to be his wife. It wasn’t as if she had no other options; she didn’t have to marry Evan.
Abby decided that during the New Year, when everyone would be free, she would go on a few blind dates arranged by her family. She would give herself and those suitors a chance. There was no point in dwelling on Evan.
People had tried to advise Evan, but he didn’t listen, so Abby refused to blame herself.
Serenity nodded. “Where are Titus and Sonny? And what about Avah? Isn’t she with you?”
Jane replied, “The boys took Avah downstairs to play. Laurel and the others are with them too. They’re having fun, and Avah loves playing with them.”
Suddenly, Jane asked, “Seren, I’m planning to take the kids to my mom’s place later. Want to join us for a couple of days? But my mom still lives in the countryside—it’s not very exciting.” She was concerned that Serenity might not enjoy it.
Serenity laughed. “I grew up in the countryside; how could I not be accustomed to it? I’d love to go if you’re willing to take me and the kids. I hear your parents have a lot of chickens and ducks—they’re free-range, right? I bet they taste amazing!” Serenity wasn’t lacking in food; she just wanted to experience something different.
wanted Jane to know she was eagerly anticipating the trip. Jane smiled and replied, “Yes, they raise a lot. I keep telling them not to, but they insist. They even sent me a dozen chickens over the holidays. Every time I visit, they fill my car with eggs, rice, homemade peanut oil, sweet potatoes, and taro.”
“They always complain that my trunk is too small and joke that I should drive a truck. They say nine out of ten daughters are thieves, and I feel like one every time!”
Married At First Sight Chapter 3705
Jane returned with a car full of goods from her parents and grandparents, who had packed her vehicle with farm-fresh treats. She didn’t mind at all, and even her in-laws appreciated them. Whenever she came back from visiting her parents, her uncles and aunts would come over to enjoy the farm goods she had brought along.
Jane understood that the elders in her in-laws’ family were excited to share the items she brought as a sign of respect for her. It was an honor for her to be part of the Johnson family.
Serenity said enviously, “That’s the love your parents have for you.” Her parents had passed away, and she could no longer experience that kind of affection. She had no family home to return to; although the house still stood, going back without her parents would only bring her sadness.
While her relationship with her grandparents had improved, it wasn’t as close as Jane’s connection with her own family. Jane had become part of the Murphy family, even though she wasn’t their biological child. The Murphys treated her better than their own children. She usually visited her adoptive parents while her biological parents traveled abroad and returned only occasionally.
Now that Sariyah was in charge of the Lafayette family, Jane’s parents felt they could
Finally, they can enjoy retirement and live their lives. They had lost over 20 years due to various circumstances, and Jane’s mother was profoundly affected by Jane’s disappearance. It wasn’t until Jane was found that her mother began to slowly recover.
“My mom has been asking when you’ll be free to visit us. The weather is lovely today, so let’s take the kids and stay for a couple of days. The sweet potatoes are in season, and we can roast some when we get there,” Serenity said with a hint of nostalgia. “I can’t even remember the last time I had roasted sweet potatoes—real ones from the field, not from the oven.”
Jane smiled and replied, “Then I’ll ensure you get some this time.”
“Let’s go and take the kids too. If I don’t bring Enzo and Avah, my parents will be disappointed. They always joke that once they have grandchildren, they no longer need me. It’s a typical generation gap.”
Sometimes, Jane felt a twinge of jealousy watching her parents spoil the kids. Before they had children, she was the center of attention. Now, her parents wouldn’t even let her visit without bringing the kids along. If she mentioned that the kids weren’t feeling well, her parents would immediately pack up to head to her in-laws’ house, as if being there would somehow make the children feel better. Luckily, the kids were healthy and rarely got sick.
Serenity laughed, “A lot of grandparents are like that. They tend to be closer to their grandkids.”
As they chatted, the two made their way downstairs.
Jane called out to the kids, “Titus, Sonny, we’re going to your grandma’s house for a couple of days.”
Alannah, who was sitting on the sofa playing with Enzo, overheard Jane and asked, “Jane, are you going to your mom’s?”
“Yes, Mom. We’re staying for two days. My mom misses the kids.” Alannah leaned down to kiss her grandson’s cheek.
She said, “Is Avah going to grandma’s house? Grandma will miss you too! Jane, why don’t you take me with you? I haven’t had a good chat with your mom in a while.” In reality, the two in-laws had only spent one week together. Alannah had invited Jane’s mother to the city for shopping, beauty treatments, and dining. Mrs. Murphy stayed at her daughter’s house for one night, but Jane had arranged for a driver to take her back the next day. Mrs. Murphy mentioned she couldn’t stay longer because she needed to look after her chickens and ducks; otherwise, she would have extended her visit by a few more days.
