Chapter 3740
**Married At First Sight Chapter 3740**
When Trenton’s parents went to jail, he was only eighteen. Carrie was only adept at spending money, while relatives circled the Newman family’s assets. Neither she nor Trenton could maintain their family fortune. After Camryn regained her sight, she still found it difficult to use her eyes for extended periods, so Dalton continued to manage most of the company’s affairs. Fortunately, Callum had now become involved. If anything went awry, Callum would ensure that the Newman family did not suffer any losses, particularly since much of it belonged to Camryn. He was determined to keep her assets safe.
“You’ve been in school for too long, and now you’ve been brainwashed. Dalton is incredible, right? Our father trusted him with everything, and now he’s serving this blind woman!” Carrie’s tone was laced with bitterness.
Carrie despised Camryn, but her hatred for Dalton was even stronger. She blamed him for allowing the company to fall into Camryn’s hands. With Trenton occupied with school, it was only natural for Camryn to take over the business, but that meant Carrie lost her grip on power. She believed she should have been the head of the family, with all the wealth she desired. Instead, she found herself humiliated, used, and forced to terminate a pregnancy she could not support.
Reflecting on the pain of her miscarriage made Carrie pale. She had not anticipated the experience to be so agonizing and frightening, accompanied by such heavy blood loss. She was convinced that Dalton’s betrayal of her parents, in aiding Camryn, had led her to this miserable point in her life.
Camryn regarded Carrie coldly. “Carrie, have you spent all your money again?” she asked sharply. “If you need cash, just ask directly. Stop wasting time. Your parents knew what belonged to whom. I’ve mentioned before that I will reclaim what’s mine, and the rest will go to Trenton. And
“Don’t forget that you’ve already taken some of what belongs to my parents!”
“Since I’m your mother’s biological daughter and your father’s adopted daughter, I have a right to inherit as well. You may not have excelled in school, but you should understand inheritance laws,” Carrie retorted, although her confidence was wavering.
“Carrie, have you squandered all your money again?” Camryn asked coldly. “If you need it, just say so instead of rambling on. Your parents knew what belonged to whom. I’ll take what’s mine, and Trenton will get the rest. And don’t act like you haven’t already taken a portion of my parents’ property! I’m finished discussing this. Every time you come here, you repeat the same thing, and I’m tired of hearing it. If you’re so unhappy and believe the company should be yours, then do something about it! Challenge me for it! What’s the point of yelling here? You’re just a fool who can’t even keep a job, merely a pretty face. Even if you took over the company, you’d ruin it in no time. Don’t think our parents left you a fortune—they left debts too.”
Carrie opened her mouth to respond but finally said, “You’re lying. My mother told me the Newman family has a billion in assets.”
“That’s the company’s valuation,” Camryn replied. “But the real estate and illegal profits have been seized, and there are massive fines to pay. Do you really think it’s that easy to run the Newman family business? Do you think your parents left you a treasure? If it weren’t for Trenton, I would have cut you off long ago. I won’t allow you to take advantage of me.”
Carrie had no reply.
“Second sister, you don’t truly grasp what’s happening. Our parents sheltered you far too much. You know nothing except how to spend money,” Trenton said, feeling helpless about the situation.
Carrie’s attitude.
At times, he even held their parents responsible for indulging her excessively.
