With the money from her brother, Carrie returned to the flower shop, feeling a sense of satisfaction. Once there, she took a few roses without paying and attempted to leave.
“She didn’t pay. Stop her,” Camryn commanded.
Camryn was determined not to let Carrie get away with it. Her two bodyguards moved in to block Carrie’s exit.
Irritated, Carrie snapped, “Camryn, I only took a few flowers! You have so many here! What’s the big deal? Do you still want me to pay? I’m your sister, your real sister!”
Camryn responded calmly, “Everyone who buys flowers from me must pay, and you’re no exception. Besides, you’ve never treated me like a sister. You only mention family when it serves your interests, but that won’t work with me.
These roses are fresh, and since you’re my sister, I’ll only charge you $20 per rose. You took three or five, so that totals $100. I promise I’m not overcharging you.”
Carrie’s face darkened. “Camryn, why don’t you just rob a bank? $20 for a flower? That’s outrageous! Here, take your flowers back. I’ll go pick some wildflowers from the roadside—they’re prettier than your roses anyway.”
She threw the roses back into the bucket and stormed out, frustrated that she couldn’t manipulate Camryn.
As Carrie drove away, she noticed Callum’s car approaching. She turned to look at him, but he barely acknowledged her as they passed, leaving her feeling bitter.

Callum nodded and asked, “Did that woman come by here? Has anything happened to your Second Young Madam?”

“No, sir,” the bodyguard replied respectfully. “Second Young Madam doesn’t allow anyone to disturb her. You don’t need to worry—we’re here to protect her.”

Callum nodded again. “Good. Keep her safe, and I’ll ensure you receive a nice year-end bonus.”

The bodyguard smiled as he watched Callum enter the store.

Upon hearing his familiar footsteps, Camryn looked up, stood, and smiled. “You’re so busy. What brings you here?”

“I missed you, so I came,” Callum replied.

Camryn blushed slightly and said softly, “There are people here.”

Callum chuckled. “We’re husband and wife. I’m just speaking the truth. What is there to be afraid of?”
