Chapter 3775
“If the appointment time hasn’t arrived yet, just wait. No one can skip the line or arrive early unless President Ormond permits it. Didn’t Mr. Labbe schedule an appointment two days ago? It’s likely not time yet. Please return and wait. It’s pointless for you to come here every day and block our company’s entrance. If you get in President Ormond’s way, she might become upset and cancel Mr. Labbe’s appointment altogether.”
The Labbe family bodyguard opened his mouth to respond but ultimately said only, “Thank you.” He then turned and walked away. Upon returning to the car, Mr. Labbe rolled down the window. The bodyguard leaned down and spoke respectfully, “Sir, the security guard said that since you have an appointment, you just need to wait for the scheduled time. There’s no need to come here every day. He also mentioned that if the appointment time hasn’t arrived yet, you must wait and cannot cut in line or arrive early.”
Mr. Labbe’s expression darkened, but he quickly regained his composure. Coldly, he said, “Then I’ll wait here until Elora gets off work. I don’t believe she won’t come out.”
“Get in the car; it’s cold outside.”
At least the car had heating, making it less chilly.
Winter in Province X is cold, whether in Annenburg or Havenmill.
Mr. Labbe took out his cell phone, considering calling Elora, but soon abandoned that idea in favor of calling Tinsley instead. Elora was cold and aloof and might not answer, but Tinsley was more approachable.
The call connected, but Tinsley didn’t pick up right away.
Mr. Labbe waited patiently for Tinsley to answer.
This time, Tinsley did not respond, and Mr. Labbe’s expression darkened once more. At that moment, Tinsley was in the president’s office. When she saw Mr. Labbe’s name on the caller ID, she showed the phone to her sister, who was sitting across from her, and said, “Sister, you didn’t see him, but now he’s calling me. This old man is so annoying. Out of politeness, I met with him twice, and he got the wrong idea, thinking I was interested in him. He asked me out, invited me to dinner, and even tried to give me gifts. I rejected him each time. Yet, every time he looks at me, he pretends to be sincere, but I always see the lust and desire in his eyes.”
Tinsley was not fond of meeting with Mr. Labbe. Although he acted in a gentle and refined manner, he was a playboy at heart, having many mistresses and countless affairs. How could she not see the lustful glint in his eyes? How could she not notice how his gaze roamed over her? This was the first time Tinsley had encountered a man as lascivious as Mr. Labbe.
After glancing at the caller ID, Elora returned the phone to Tinsley and said coldly, “Don’t bother with him. He’s one of those family heads who looks down on us sisters. He claims he wants to negotiate business, but I suspect his real intention is to get close to either you or me. He probably plans to use that as a way to gradually gain control of our Ormond family’s assets. Even though he’s the acting head of the Labbe family and is indeed capable and ruthless, no matter how much he achieves, his position is not legitimate.”
Success for someone else. I’m sure he is aware of the considerable changes within the Jensburg Farrell family and fears he may face the same fate as the previous head of that family.
