Chapter 383
“won’t feel cold anymore.” Serenity nearly choked on her saliva. Was he flirting with her? Noticing her silence, Zachary understood she wouldn’t hug him, so he continued walking ahead. Moments later, Serenity caught up with him and handed back his suit jacket. Before he could say anything, she quickly added, “You’re taller than me, so even if I hug you, I won’t block the wind. Why don’t you put on your jacket and hug me instead?”
Zachary’s expression was cold when Serenity returned his jacket, but upon hearing her words, he swiftly put it on, eager to pull her into his arms. “Let’s find a place to sit,” he suggested, and Serenity agreed without hesitation.
As they walked slowly, embracing each other, it marked a significant step forward in their relationship as husband and wife. Eventually, they found a quiet spot and settled down on the sand. Leaning against Zachary’s chest, Serenity felt warm and cozy. “Mr. York.” “Hmm?”
“You usually have a cold and serious demeanor, but your embrace is warmer than I expected.” Zachary looked down at her. “Oh? You’ve imagined me hugging you?” Serenity was momentarily speechless. Zachary pursed his lips and smiled, hugging her a bit tighter. “I planned to take you to the beach for a nice seafood dinner this weekend, but since Liberty is going to talk to Hank about the divorce, I doubt you’ll be in the mood for a holiday with me. Instead, I’ll treat you to a seafood supper later tonight.”
“Now that you mention it, I’m hungry. Let’s go eat now,” Serenity replied. Zachary laughed. “Alright. I’ll stay with you tonight, no matter what.” Serenity stood up with a smile and said, “Don’t make empty promises.”
“Promises! Will you perform a strip dance if I ask you to?” Zachary found himself at a loss for words.
