Chapter 3867
Liberty felt a bit shy when Rocco addressed her as “Fourth Aunt,” but she quickly responded with a warm smile before turning to the kids. “Sonny, make sure to listen to Rocco, okay?”
Rocco nodded confidently, saying, “Don’t worry, Fourth Aunt. I’ve got Sonny covered.”
Duncan also provided a few reminders before letting the boys run off to play.
As Liberty and Duncan walked into the house, everyone greeted them with warm smiles. The sight of Duncan and Liberty together—happy, close, and full of love—deeply moved the Lewis family.
They had once thought Duncan might remain a bachelor forever and never expected him to fall for Liberty, who was the sister-in-law of his best friend Zachary and a divorced woman. Initially, the older family members resisted the match, but Duncan never wavered. He was determined to be with Liberty, and after overcoming numerous challenges, they finally reached this point. It hadn’t been easy.
Liberty graciously greeted everyone, familiar with Duncan’s extended family and aware of their wealth. Mrs. Lewis’s family was particularly affluent, though not quite at the same level as the Lewis family itself.
After Serenity married into the York family and Audrey officially welcomed the two sisters into her life, Liberty frequently attended high-society events. Alongside Audrey, she met many influential women and forged connections. Initially, some may have looked down on Liberty, but Audrey and Serenity’s status ensured they treated her with respect.
Now, with Liberty’s connection to the Farrell family and her future role as its head, people genuinely wanted to build relationships with her. Some in Woon remarked that it wasn’t surprising for both Serenity and Liberty to marry into prominent families.
Wealth was a given for the Lewis family, thanks to their aristocratic roots. Their hardships stemmed only from past family misfortunes. However, the warmth extended to Liberty by the Lewis family was not merely due to her connection with the Farrell family. They embraced her wholeheartedly because she was Duncan’s beloved partner, his rock, and vital to his recovery. As the couple prepared for marriage, the family was eager to support Liberty in every possible way.
Meanwhile, the household staff busily unpacked the gifts Liberty had brought. Mrs. Lewis turned to her with a smile and said, “You didn’t have to bring so much, dear. We’re family—there’s no need to go out of your way.”
Liberty chuckled, “Auntie, I didn’t spend anything. These supplements were just items from home, and the toys were Sonny’s idea—gifts he wanted to give to his cousins.” The supplements were thoughtful gifts from Serenity, Audrey, and even Jasmine, so she genuinely hadn’t needed to purchase anything.
Mrs. Lewis’s expression softened. “Sonny even thought to bring gifts for his cousins.” She picked up a doll with “Big Sister” written in Sonny’s handwriting, intended for her eldest granddaughter. “Sonny’s handwriting is quite impressive for his age.”
Liberty noticed her son’s neat writing and smiled with pride. “Sonny has been practicing with Titus every day at FC Manor, copying books and working on his penmanship. It has significantly improved his handwriting.” While Liberty didn’t want to pressure Sonny to write too much at his young age, she ensured that the practice remained light-hearted to avoid straining his hands or hindering the development of his little fingers.
