Grandma May and Mrs. Lane arrived at Bright Boulevard and made their way directly to Liberty’s house. Upon exiting the elevator, they were met with loud cries that disturbed the neighbors. A crowd had gathered outside Liberty’s home, eager to find out what was happening.

“Hank Brown, you scoundrel! Return my son to me! Your entire family is despicable! You treat Sonny like a toy, playing with him whenever it suits you. But when he cries, you simply leave without a word!”

“Sonny is just two years and five months old; have you, as his grandparents, ever bought him a single piece of clothing? You haven’t even given him a toy. Now you claim to miss Sonny? Even if you do, have I ever prevented you from seeing him?”

Liberty was being restrained by her in-laws to keep her from attacking Hank. She struggled fiercely, crying and cursing like a madwoman.
