that his family had formed a human wall, blocking the door and preventing Hank’s family from entering the ward.
“Zachary, move aside! I need to see my son! Sonny is my son!” Hank shouted, feeling the urgency of the situation.
He wanted to fight for custody, but he never imagined his son would be hurt. As Sonny’s biological father, Hank couldn’t comprehend how anyone could harm him.
Emma had informed Chelsea over the phone that Sonny and Lucas had gotten into a fight. Sonny struck Lucas first, prompting Matthew to retaliate. Unfortunately, Matthew’s response was too forceful.
Chelsea explained that Matthew, being only ten years old, lacked control over his strength. Learning that Sonny had been beaten and admitted to the hospital infuriated Hank, who blamed his brother-in-law for not properly caring for Sonny. Heartbroken, he rushed to the hospital with his parents.
Yet again, Zachary obstructed their path, preventing them from seeing Sonny.
“Sonny… Move aside! I want to see my grandson! My poor grandson…” Mrs. Brown cried, attempting to push the York brothers away. Her wails sounded sorrowful, yet her eyes were dry.
The boy who had struck Sonny was the grandson she had raised. Torn between supporting Matthew and Sonny, Mrs. Brown decided to first assess the extent of Sonny’s injuries.
Zachary coldly replied, “Sonny is your biological grandson. If you truly care for him, you shouldn’t have acted the way you did today. Haven’t you learned about your family’s nature by now?
“You allowed them to take Sonny away. Did you ever consider how much he would suffer with them?
“Even during your divorce, you could sit down with Liberty and discuss matters. If you can’t reach an agreement, just file a lawsuit. Using Sonny as a pawn is a despicable tactic!”
Hank began to understand.
How mistaken he was. If Sonny were to experience an incident…
“Zachary, let me see Sonny first, okay? This situation is between Liberty and me; we’ll handle it ourselves. I just want to check on Sonny. Is he alright?”
Zachary replied coldly, “Sonny is emotionally unstable, so you can’t go in to see him.”
Liberty’s voice rose in anger. “Zachary, let him in. I want him to witness how the family he supports treats his own son.”
