Liberty stated, “It’s none of your business where I got these, Hank. If I were to show your boss all the commissions you’ve been pocketing, do you think you could still keep your position as a manager at Waltham Electronics?”
Serenity cautioned Liberty not to reveal the evidence to Hank but to intimidate him verbally instead.
Understanding Hank well, Liberty believed he wouldn’t feel threatened without concrete proof. Therefore, she made a copy of the evidence that Zachary’s friend had gathered.
Even if Hank destroyed it, she could easily create multiple copies.
Armed with this evidence, Hank was inclined to concede and negotiate the divorce terms with Liberty, all to safeguard his job.
Unbeknownst to Liberty, Zachary had directed Josh to suppress Waltham Electronics, and what awaited Hank and Jessica was a termination letter.
Hank looked extremely distressed as he gazed at Liberty.
Previously, Liberty had been the finance director at Waltham Electronics. At that time, she was more competent than Hank, who couldn’t admit to the immense pressure he felt. He believed he was inferior to Liberty, which damaged his self-esteem, prompting him to propose to her.

While breastfeeding, Liberty ate more for the sake of their son and gained weight because Hank had successfully reshaped her future, making her dependent on him.
To be honest, Hank did not intend to divorce Liberty just yet. He planned to wait until Sonny began kindergarten before ending their marriage, believing his parents could then take over the responsibility of caring for Sonny.

After Hank finally expelled Serenity from his house, Serenity married Zachary, and his plans began to spiral out of control.
Perhaps he had made a mistake.
He should never have listened to his mother and sister about driving Serenity away or made a fuss about taking in his nephew for junior high.
Had Serenity remained with them, Hank and Liberty might not have turned against each other so quickly.
After Jessica saw the evidence, her expression turned somber.
Jessica nudged Hank, who was still fixated on Liberty.
Hank was brought back from his distant thoughts and noticed Liberty calmly sipping a glass of juice. He sensed that Liberty had lost weight, but he wasn’t sure if it was due to her struggles adjusting to returning to work or because of what had happened with Sonny.
