Chapter: 2935
Su Zhiyu looked up at Charlie Wade, realizing he understood her grandfather’s scheming nature. He had mentioned that his grandfather would come to ask for help, but she didn’t expect him to be right. What she didn’t know was why her grandfather was angry at Charlie or that he had sent a Gu art master to Jinling to try and kill him.
Not wanting to agree right away, she asked, “Grandpa, you said there was a misunderstanding with Grace. Can you explain what it was? If I’m going to help, I need to understand what happened first to communicate with Eun Gong.”
Su Chengfeng hesitated, then sighed. “Well…it’s not exactly a misunderstanding. I got confused and hired a master of metaphysics from the UK to find your benefactor in Jinling.”
He continued, “Honestly, I didn’t want to hurt him. I just wanted to meet him and talk things over. But the master I hired went too far and ended up killing an innocent person and trying to kill your benefactor. That was all his doing, but your benefactor thought I sent him to kill him, which is why he got so angry with me…”
Su Zhiyu was shocked. She never thought her grandfather would do something so reckless, especially not against someone who had helped her.
Anger surged through her. “Why would you send someone to assassinate Grace?!”
Su Chengfeng noticed the change in how Su Zhiyu addressed him, realizing she was serious and upset.
Su Zhiyu was clearly upset. She quickly explained, “I didn’t mean for this to happen. It’s all because of that guy; he doesn’t know right from wrong. I just have to be competitive…”
Su Zhiyu’s voice was sharp as she replied, “Do you really think I can believe you? You could even hurt my mother. How can I trust you to be kind?”
Realizing that arguing was pointless, Su Chengfeng sighed and said, “Zhiyu, arguing about this won’t help. Grandpa promises you won’t make the same mistakes again. I hope you can talk to the benefactor about the situation…”
Even though Su Zhiyu was still angry, she remembered what Charlie Wade had told her. Her tone softened a bit as she said, “Right now, I’m at Buckingham Palace talking to Ito Takehiko from the Ito family. I’m not sure about my benefactor’s situation, but after I finish with Mr. Ito, I’ll do my best to help.”
Then, she looked at her grandfather seriously and said, “Grandpa, I need to make something clear. Grace has saved me twice, and he’s also saved my mother and brother. He’s been kind to me and given me a second chance. To me, he is more important than you!”
Su Chengfeng felt a wave of frustration but held his tongue. He understood that to Su Zhiyu, he wasn’t just her loving grandfather; he felt more like a rival. So, her words didn’t surprise him.
What did surprise him was how straightforward Su Zhiyu had become. It seemed like his granddaughter had grown more bold and honest in her opinions.
Despite his displeasure, Su Chengfeng felt a bit relieved when Su Zhiyu said she was willing to help him as much as she could.
