Chen Zekai was both amused and irritated. He said, “Go ahead, call your young master and tell him that Chen Zekai personally said he had plastic surgery. If he doesn’t believe it, I’ll be right here waiting for him to sue me. Let’s see what he says.”

Furious, Xu Dandan shot back, “Are you trying to scare me? Fine, I’ll call him right now!” He pulled out his phone, walked away, and dialed.

Charlie Wade watched him and frowned. “That guy seems a bit off. It looks like Zhong Tianyu isn’t a good person. Why would you invite someone like him to the concert?”

Chen Zekai chuckled and explained, “Mr. Ye, you don’t know the whole story. The founder of the Zhong Group is Zhong Tianyu’s grandfather, Zhong Shaohua. When he was young, he went to Nanyang with his parents. He returned to China to start a business in 1949, being one of the first overseas Chinese to come back and help develop the country.”

He continued, “When he returned, China was still struggling. He had a strong connection with the Gu family and helped them a lot. However, after Zhong Shaohua passed away, his son, Zhong Zhengtao, took over, and the Zhong Group started to decline.”

“Speaking of families,” Chen Zekai said with a smile, “the Gu family has always respected the Zhong family. Zhong Tianyu has had his eye on Miss Gu for a long time. He even joined the entertainment industry to get closer to her. Because of their families’ ties, Miss Gu has helped him with his career, often inviting him to shows. So, it makes sense that he would be a guest at her concert.”

Charlie Wade nodded, understanding now. He hadn’t planned to protect Zhong Tianyu’s friends, but knowing their connection changed things. He leaned in and whispered to Chen Zekai, “Since they have such a close relationship with the Gu family, let’s just let them go later. We don’t want to embarrass anyone.”
