When Zhong Zhengtao asked for help, Ye Changmin couldn’t say no. He replied, “Just a moment, I’ll call Charlie Wade and check with him.”
Zhong Zhengtao let out a soft sigh and said sadly, “Alright, thank you for your help, Changmin.”
“Don’t mention it,” Ye Changmin reassured him. “Zhengtao, try not to be too upset. I think Tianyu is still very immature. Keeping him in this messy entertainment world for three years might make things harder for him in the future.”
Zhong Zhengtao nodded and replied seriously, “You’re right! I’ve told him not to get involved in these shallow things, but he just won’t listen. If he hadn’t entered this industry, he wouldn’t be facing these troubles today.”
Ye Changmin continued, “Three years can feel long or short. I believe Charlie Wade is just punishing him, but he will take care of him. You don’t need to worry too much.”
He added, “Honestly, considering how things have turned out, it’s not too bad. As long as you keep this situation under wraps and don’t let it leak, the Zhong family’s reputation should be fine. But you should communicate with Tianyu’s agency. Since he’s a public figure, if he suddenly disappears, people will definitely start talking. It’s better to have a reasonable explanation ready for the public.”
Zhong Zhengtao thought for a moment and said with a hint of frustration, “Then we should announce that he’s leaving the industry to focus on his studies. He’s always just playing around and not learning anything. I really plan to send him abroad for a few years to study.”
Ye Changmin was deciding whether to go to Europe to study for a master’s degree, which would take three years. He felt unsure about leaving. “What’s the difference,” he thought, “between being on a ship for three years and going to maritime technical school for the same amount of time?”
To ease his worries, Ye Changmin said, “Don’t be too upset. I think your idea is good. If Tianyu’s agency announces that school is important and that he’s officially leaving the entertainment industry, it will show that academics matter.”
He added, “If Tianyu can finally move on from his past problems over the last three years, it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.”
Zhong Zhengtao nodded, feeling more at ease. “Hearing your words makes me feel much better.”
Ye Changmin laughed, “I made you feel better, didn’t I? I helped you feel better that night!”
Zhong Zhengtao felt a little excited and asked, “Are you busy right now? If you’re free, why not come over to my house? Tianyu isn’t home.”
Ye Changmin thought for a moment and teased, “Why are you so eager?”
Without waiting for his response, she added shyly, “But I’m almost finished here. I can be at your place in about 20 minutes.”
Zhong Zhengtao was thrilled and replied quickly, “Great! Hurry up! I’ll be waiting for you at home. We can have dinner together. Don’t leave if you don’t have any plans for the evening.”
“Okay,” Ye Changmin said simply. “Let me call Charlie Wade first to see if I can get you in touch with Tianyu.”
“It’s good!” Ye Changmin said as he hung up the phone. While he got ready, he called Charlie Wade. In a flattering tone, he said, “Charlie, I talked to Zhong Tianyu’s dad. He said Zhong Tianyu feels really embarrassed about what happened when he bumped into you. So, you shouldn’t have any problem with Zhong Tianyu’s punishment. After all, he’s been a stubborn kid since he was little.”
Charlie was surprised to hear how quickly the aunt who had just been pleading for Zhong Tianyu had changed her tune. But he didn’t feel like chatting with Ye Changmin. He replied, “Do you need anything else? If not, I’ll hang up.”
