Chapter: 2995
In the lead car of the Rolls-Royce team, Su Zhifei sat next to Chen Duoduo and smiled. “Duo Duo, I’ve secured a lot of advertising spots in Jinling lately. I’ve started displaying the promotional posters for Miss Gu’s concert around the clock. Once we enter the city, you’ll see at least twenty or thirty ads along the way.”
Chen Duoduo looked puzzled. “Master Su, I thought Qiu Yi’s concert tickets sold out a long time ago. Isn’t all this promotion a waste?”
Su Zhifei smiled and replied seriously, “It’s about trends! Even though the concert is at full capacity, that’s still only 30,000 to 50,000 people. Jinling has nearly 10 million residents. If we can reach the rest of the population, it will greatly boost Miss Gu’s popularity. Don’t you agree?”
Chen Duoduo smiled awkwardly. “To be honest, Master Su, if you look at the trending lists on major websites and the search engine rankings, Qiu Yi is currently the most influential celebrity in the country. Our strategy has focused on building momentum. In fact, we’ve been careful to avoid overdoing it…”
“Why?” Su Zhifei asked, surprised. “Stars are competing for attention all the time. The cost of getting noticed in the entertainment industry is rising. Many stars are going to great lengths to promote themselves. Why aren’t you doing the same?”
Chen Duoduo explained earnestly, “This is actually Qiu Yi’s choice. She believes that creating too much hype is wasteful and takes away from public resources.”
After speaking, Chen Duoduo said, “Qiuyi thinks that the entertainment industry doesn’t get enough exposure. Her popularity will just keep diluting, which isn’t fair to others.”
Su Zhifei felt uneasy and asked quietly, “Duo Duo, if I get these advertising spots, won’t Miss Gu be upset when she sees it?”
Chen Duoduo smiled and replied, “I can’t say for sure.”
Su Zhifei thought for a moment. He wondered, “If there are so many free advertising spots, could it backfire later?” He then asked, “By the way, when will Miss Gu be here?”
Chen Duoduo answered carefully, “I really don’t know. Qiu Yi has work in Yanjing and won’t come until she’s finished. She usually travels by private jet, so the timing is uncertain.”
Su Zhifei nodded and smiled, saying, “If you need to pick her up, just let me know in advance, and I can do it.”
Chen Duoduo agreed, saying, “I’ll let Qiu Yi know.”
“Great!” Su Zhifei replied with a grin. He added casually, “By the way, I heard that Zhong Tianyu arrived in Jinling yesterday and got into trouble right after landing. Do you know who was behind it?”
Chen Duoduo shook her head, “I really don’t know.”
Although she didn’t know the details, Chen Duoduo suspected it was Charlie Wade. She looked at Su Zhifei, feeling a bit sorry for him. She understood how much he cared about Gu Qiuyi. But deep down, she knew that Gu Qiuyi only had eyes for Charlie Wade, no matter how much Su Zhifei tried.
Gu Qiuyi was not impressed with Su Zhifei, and she would never give him a second glance. She knew that no matter how hard he tried, he was destined to fail. There was no other outcome possible.
While they were talking, Chen Duoduo suddenly got a notification on her phone. She pulled it out and saw a news alert. The headline read, “Zhong Tianyu’s agency announced this morning at 7:30: Zhong Tianyu will completely withdraw from the entertainment industry to study abroad!”
Chen Duoduo gasped and quickly clicked to read more. Su Zhifei also leaned in to see what was happening.
The details revealed that Zhong Tianyu’s agency stated he had decided, after careful thought, that he didn’t belong in the entertainment industry. He wanted to focus on his studies and plans to go overseas to earn a master’s degree in business administration to prepare for taking over his family’s business. Because of this, he would be leaving the entertainment world for good.
Su Zhifei burst out laughing when he read this. “I think Zhong Tianyu is just pretending. He’ll definitely stay in the entertainment industry. That video from the airport yesterday is still trending, and it’s full of people mocking him. If I were him, I would be too embarrassed to stick around!”
Chen Duoduo smiled politely but didn’t say much in response.
