Chapter: 3130
After their conversation, Charlie Wade continued to think. He said, “If the enemy’s 8,000 ground troops launch a strong attack, it won’t really matter. You’re in a high and secure position. It’s easier to defend than to attack. You’ve built a solid fortification, which strengthens your defense. Even if the enemy tries to invade, you can use your anti-slope tunnel to your advantage. When they come in, they’ll be trapped. You’ll have the high ground and the tunnels, and they’ll have no place to escape!”
Hamid got excited and exclaimed, “Wow! That’s incredible! I was a bit nervous at first, but now I actually want them to rush in!”
Charlie replied, “It’s great that you feel that way. Now, get your troops ready for the final battle. Remember, stay calm and be strategic. Don’t rush in blindly! Also, be prepared for the worst. If things get really tough, you might have to take risks.”
“Got it!” Hamid said eagerly. “I’ll make the arrangements! I’ll keep you updated. Make sure your phone is on. Whether we survive this depends on you!”
Charlie assured him, “Don’t worry. My phone will be on 24/7. I’ll answer you within seconds!”
“Thanks, brother. I feel better knowing you’re there for me! Wait for my good news!”
“Good luck to you!” Charlie replied before hanging up the phone.
As soon as Charlie Wade hung up the phone, his wife, Xiao Churan, who was sitting in the passenger seat, looked at him with surprise. “Husband, who was calling you? Why are you still involved in the war?” she asked.
Charlie quickly reassured her, “No, no, you misunderstood! It’s not a war; it’s just a game! A friend of mine has become really into a military game. He needed help figuring out how to organize his troops, so he called me for advice.”
Xiao Churan listened to his explanation and believed him completely. She had grown up in peaceful times, so the idea of actual fighting felt very distant to her. If Charlie had told her the truth—that he was helping a friend in Syria—she would have thought he was joking.
With a smile, she said, “So your friend is really into gaming! I guess I’ll call you when I need advice too.”
Charlie nodded, “You should know that this game is really tough. No matter how much time you put into it, if you fail, you lose everything. That’s why every battle is important; you have to win, or you start all over again.”
Xiao Churan smiled back, “I get it! Nobody wants to waste their effort. It’s like those jumping games—if you mess up, you just have to try again.”
“Exactly,” Charlie replied. He checked the time, got the car onto the main road, and said, “I’ll take you to your company first.”
“Okay!” Xiao Churan said with a smile.
