- The Amazing Son-in-Law [The Charismatic Charlie Wade] (Chinese name) Chapter: 4748
When Ma Lan fully changed at Bedford Hill Correctional Institution, she became intimidating and enjoyed treating others coldly.
Meanwhile, Charlie Wade, who was with the Fei family, received a document from Wan Pojun. Thanks to Wanlongdian’s strong intelligence network, this document detailed nearly all the crimes Mei Yuzhen had committed in the United States over the years.
The document was over 30 pages long, and it took Charlie more than an hour to read through it all. As he read, he became increasingly angry. He couldn’t believe how many terrible things Mei Yuzhen had done to her fellow countrymen in the U.S.
Over the years, at least thirty people had died, either directly or indirectly, because of her actions. Many others had simply vanished after coming into contact with her. Like Ma Lan, countless people had ended up in prison because of her.
Despite this, Wanlong Palace had no leads on Mei Yuzhen. Since leaving Providence, she had not appeared in any public places and seemed to have completely disappeared.
Charlie speculated that even though Mei Yuzhen was on the run, she wouldn’t just give up. With her family arrested and all her assets seized, she wouldn’t be content in this situation. He believed that even while fleeing, she would find ways to continue her harmful activities and reap illegal benefits.
With this in mind, Charlie called Wan Pojun. As soon as the call connected, he said, “Po Jun, I’ve read all the information you sent.”
Wan Pojun replied, sounding embarrassed, “I’m sorry, Mr. Ye. We don’t have any clues about Mei Yuzhen’s whereabouts, but don’t worry…”
Charlie Wade reassured his team, “Don’t worry. I’ve informed all our contacts in Wanlong Palace in the United States. As soon as they spot Mei Yuzhen, we’ll know right away.”
He continued, “I have a feeling that Mei Yuzhen will strike again soon. We need to follow any clues we can find.”
Wan Pojun sighed, “It’s tough here in the U.S. Most cities don’t have full surveillance, especially in the outskirts and along the highways. Over 90% of the highways are free, meaning there are no toll booths to track vehicles. Once they leave Providence, it’s hard for us to track their movements.”
Charlie thought for a moment and said, “Even if Mei Yuzhen and her group seem to have disappeared, their targets are still out there. As long as they keep moving, we can find clues.”
He added, “Po Jun, please have someone in Providence look into Mei Yuzhen’s alias, Chen Liping. I want to know all her social connections during this time. The people she has been close to are likely her targets. If we can track them, we might find her.”
Wan Pojun quickly responded, “Understood, Mr. Ye. I’ll get on it right away!”
An hour later, Charlie received a call from Wan Pojun.
On the phone, Wan Pojun reported, “Mr. Ye, our team in Providence has found that Mei Yuzhen has been in close contact with at least six Chinese locals. However, after your mother-in-law’s incident, she lost touch with them.”
Wade asked, “Who are these six people? What is their background?”
