- The Amazing Son-in-Law [The Charismatic Charlie Wade] (Chinese name) Chapter: 4762
The young man let out a sigh of relief as he hung up the phone. He turned around and walked over to Charlie Wade and Lang Hongjun.
What he didn’t realize was that Charlie Wade had listened to the entire phone call and report. Charlie was impressed by how alert this organization was, but he also felt that all their careful planning seemed pointless against such overwhelming power.
Despite their caution, Charlie knew they wouldn’t be able to avoid being destroyed by the group. The young man, unaware of the danger, thought Lang Hongjun was being generous. He smiled and said to Charlie Wade, “You’re really lucky! Usually, we have strict hiring procedures. You need to submit documents and pass a medical exam to join. But right now, our ship is leaving soon, and we need extra manpower. If you’re interested, we can set up an interview, and you could start working without any issues.”
Charlie pretended to be excited and asked, “So, what’s the monthly salary for a seaman?”
The young man replied with a grin, “You can earn between five to six thousand dollars a month, depending on your performance and mission efficiency.”
“Sounds great! Let’s do it!” Charlie Wade nodded enthusiastically.
The young man said, “Let’s hurry. It’s still about 100 kilometers to the port of Ensenada.”
Both Charlie and Lang Hongjun agreed, and they made their way to the parking lot.
Outside the airport, a young man led the group of three. They approached a Chevrolet pickup where a brown-skinned Mexican man was already seated as the driver.
The young man stepped away from the front seat, turned to Charlie Wade and Lang Hongjun, and said, “This is our company car. The driver is the bodyguard for our general manager. Mexico can be a bit dangerous, so we need him to help keep things safe. Don’t let his tough look fool you; he’s actually a friendly guy.”
The Mexican man smiled at Charlie and Lang, then patted his waist and said something in Spanish.
The young man translated, “He’s welcoming you to Mexico and mentioned he has a Glock 17 in his pocket to keep us safe.”
Charlie nodded and smiled, while Lang Hongjun didn’t find anything strange about it. He quickly added, “Tell him we appreciate his hard work!”
The young man smiled back, exchanged a few words in Spanish, and then said to the two, “You both sit in the back.”
Charlie and Lang climbed into the back seat of the car as the Mexican driver pulled away from the airport.
Once they were on the road, the young man turned to Charlie and Lang and said, “You should call home or send a message to let them know you’re safe. The infrastructure here isn’t great, and once we leave the city, you won’t have a signal until we reach Ensenada.”
Lang Hongjun, unaware of any trickery, quickly took out his phone and called home to report that he was safe.
Noticing that Charlie hadn’t made a call, the young man asked, “Hey, why haven’t you told your family yet?”
Charlie Wade smiled and said, “I can’t say that when I come to Mexico, the most forbidden thing for someone like me is to get in touch with my family. Once I do, it can lead to trouble, so it’s better not to mention it.”
The young man listened, smiled, and nodded but didn’t say anything in response.
