- The Amazing Son-in-Law [The Charismatic Charlie Wade] (Chinese name) Chapter: 4788
Ma Kui never expected that Charlie Wade could come up with such a plan. Not only would it ruin his life, but it would also cast a shadow over his three sons for the rest of their lives. How could they ever escape the grasp of Wanlong Palace?
Even his grandson wouldn’t be safe. Once the truth came out and he faced humiliation, he would surely despise himself. In that moment of shame, he might even abandon the family name without a second thought.
This realization terrified Ma Kui. He fell to his knees, pleading with Charlie, “Mr. Ye, please don’t do this! One person should take responsibility for their actions. If you want to punish my son for my mistakes, that’s one thing, but you can’t go after a child like this!”
Charlie smiled and replied, “What have I done to him? I’m just revealing what his grandfather did. Is that wrong? You’re not scared of your harmful actions, but you’re afraid of the truth coming out? Just think about it: once the media gets hold of this story, it will be everywhere. Your deeds might even inspire movies in different countries. You could become infamous, and when your grandson grows up, he might hate you completely!”
Ma Kui, in a fit of rage, shouted, “You’re destroying my family! I won’t let you get away with this, even if I have to haunt you as a ghost!”
Charlie scoffed, “Even if there are ghosts, you wouldn’t be forgiven. If I don’t send you to the depths of hell, I wouldn’t deserve my name.”
“Patience!”
Ma Kui looked into Charlie Wade’s eyes and felt a wave of fear wash over him. He suddenly realized that he was completely at Charlie’s mercy, like a bug trapped in a hand. It would be easy for Charlie to end his life if he wanted to.
Charlie sneered as he watched Ma Kui crumble. “For people like you, who have done terrible things, it’s not enough to just take you down. You need to feel the pain of losing everything you hold dear!”
He then asked Ma Kui, “Do you remember how, years ago, drug-related crime was rampant in Southeast Asia? The police struggled to control it, no matter how hard they tried. Even when they shot at criminals, more kept coming. Do you know how the police finally managed to stop them?”
Ma Kui shook his head, confused.
Charlie smiled and explained, “They realized that even though these criminals committed horrible acts, they were often responsible family members at home. They risked their lives and worked hard to earn money to support their families, buying homes and cars. They were proud to provide for their loved ones, even if it meant facing death.”
Charlie continued, “So, the local police came up with a strategy. Before executing these criminals, they would make them watch as their families were brought out of their homes. They would see their houses being demolished and their cars destroyed. They witnessed everything they worked for turn to dust before their eyes, and then they would be taken away to face their fate.”
Charlie Wade felt a mix of anger and determination. “Since then, the number of drug-related criminals has really started to decrease!” he said confidently.
He turned to Ma Kui with a sneer. “We should deal with you the same way! You hold money and family as your highest beliefs. If I kill you, you might think of yourself as a brave warrior who died for your faith. But I will shatter that belief completely; not a single piece will be left!”
Ma Kui sat on the ground, looking like he had been hit by lightning. Tears and snot streamed down his face as he bled from his wounds. He felt utterly hopeless.
Just then, a soldier from Wanlong Palace rushed in and called out to Wan Pojun, “Palace Master, a car is coming in from the east entrance of the village. Our sentry confirmed that Mei Yuzhen is in the passenger seat!”
“Mei Yuzhen?!” Wan Pojun’s eyes brightened. He quickly turned to Charlie Wade and said respectfully, “Mr. Ye, just as you predicted, Mei Yuzhen really did come to Mexico!”
