- The Amazing Son-in-Law [The Charismatic Charlie Wade] (Chinese name) Chapter: 4811
When Charlie Wade heard Lang Hongjun’s question, he shook his head and smiled sadly. “Things are tough right now. I survived thanks to your help, so I’m heading back to the United States. I’ll figure things out from there…”
Charlie looked at him seriously and said, “Brother, since you’re planning to go all the way to Mexico to become a seafarer, it might be hard to find a good job when you return to the States.”
Lang Hongjun’s face turned embarrassed and helpless at this. He sighed deeply and replied, “If I can’t find a decent job, I’ll just take whatever I can get. My mom has been able to find work in restaurants, so I know I can manage.”
Charlie smiled and said, “Actually, I think you have more options. Since you’ve already come this far, why rush back? You studied communication engineering, so why not join Wanlong Palace? They’re based in the Middle East and are expanding their work globally. There will be a growing need for communication experts like you.”
As Charlie spoke, he had two ideas in mind. If Lang Hongjun accepted his suggestion, that would be great. He would ensure that Wan Pojun treated him well and helped him relocate to the Middle East. However, if Lang Hongjun turned down the offer, Charlie would not let him return to the U.S. without erasing his memories of what had happened. He would not want to try that second option lightly.
Lang Hongjun had a chance encounter with Charlie Wade, and it felt like fate. If his memory were wiped clean, they would never meet again. Lang Hongjun would forget the harsh lesson he learned today and return to the U.S. to look for a new job, confused.
Charlie Wade, however, wanted to bring Lang Hongjun into his organization, the Wanlong Palace, and help him keep those memories. This seemed like a wonderful opportunity for both of them.
Lang Hongjun was shocked when Charlie invited him to join the Wanlong Palace. “Brother,” he asked in disbelief, “am I really qualified to join?”
Charlie replied earnestly, “Yes, you are. You have great communication skills, which we need at Wanlong Palace. Most of our core members are Chinese or overseas Chinese, so you won’t have any language barriers. It will be much easier to fit in here than if you go back to working for foreigners in the U.S.”
Without hesitation, Lang Hongjun exclaimed, “I’m in! I’m so grateful to you for saving my life. If I can repay you, I will. I don’t even need a salary—just give me food and I’ll be happy here.”
