- The Amazing Son-in-Law [The Charismatic Charlie Wade] (Chinese name) Chapter: 6807 Part 2
Once Song Ruyu caught the attention of the British Lord, she believed the Song family would receive better treatment. Perhaps, one day, they could escape their harsh reality of being used for reproduction.
Feeling the weight of this responsibility, Song Ruyu remained loyal to the Po Qing Society. She hoped to have more chances to prove herself and build a better future.
Recently, the Governor’s Office trusted her to oversee the replacement of an entire station. This was a big deal for her. She thought, “If I complete this mission without mistakes, the Governor’s Office will trust me with even more important tasks in the future. This is my chance to make a name for myself!”
Just as she was dreaming about her future, a knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
Startled, she snapped, “What is it?”
Outside, Charlie Wade responded, “Song Qianshi, the commander sent me to ask you to receive a message.”
“A message?” Song Ruyu scoffed. “He’s just a commander. Instead of coming to see me himself, he sends someone else. How arrogant!”
Charlie quickly replied, “I understand your frustration, Song Qian. But there’s a problem with the goods, and it might not be ready on time. Commander Yin is busy gathering all the households and flag leaders to come up with a solution. He can’t afford any delays, so he sent me to inform you.”
“What did you say?” Charlie Wade’s words about a problem with the goods made Song Ruyu instantly angry.
She sensed with her spiritual energy that Yin Xiaoyang was in the building, and many leaders from the Cavalry Guard were gathering around him. In a flash, she used her power to open the door and confronted Charlie outside. “Tell me exactly what went wrong! If this affects our progress again, I will hold the first person in charge responsible!” she warned, her voice cold.
Even though Song Ruyu was young, she had always seen human life as unimportant. It wasn’t that she was naturally cruel; it was because she knew how the Wu family treated the lives of the Song family.
Growing up, she had heard about the murders of women from the Song family who married into the Wu family—at least five times. These women were her elders, and their deaths were often for trivial reasons. Some were killed for not having sons, others for miscarriages, some simply because their husbands lost interest, and a few even for gaining weight.
The Song family, just as they were mistreated by the Wu family, also looked down on the women they found outside. Their treatment was often worse than that of the Wu family towards the Song women.
A few years ago, Song Ruyu’s older brother went out to find a suitable woman to start a family. He had a child with a woman, but when she discovered he had a family in another city, he killed her without a second thought.
The woman was shot dead by him.
Before Song Ruyu could accuse her eldest brother, he acted quickly. The reason was simple: neither he nor the Song family could afford any risks. They had planned to wait until the woman gave birth and the child turned one year old. Before the child reached that age, they intended to take the opportunity to disappear. Now that their plan was discovered, the only solution was to eliminate her to prevent any future problems.
Growing up in such an environment, Song Ruyu no longer felt any guilt about killing. To her, the knights were beneath her; they were just domestic servants raised by the Po Qing Society. She didn’t care about their lives. If someone got in her way or caused her trouble, she believed they deserved to be eliminated.
Charlie Wade was taken aback when he saw the intense look of determination on her young face. Her beautiful appearance and elegant outfit contrasted sharply with the fierce and bloody intent she displayed, which was truly shocking.
When Charlie didn’t answer her question right away, Song Ruyu’s tone became serious. She fixed her gaze on him and said firmly, “If you don’t tell me quickly, I’ll cut off your head and go ask him myself. His last name is Yin!”
Charlie was speechless at her threat. He looked at her stern expression, chuckled lightly, and replied, “Little girl, did you have a bit too much to drink tonight? You want to chop off my head, brother?”
