Sharp, agonizing pain shot through Loreen’s leg, sending waves of distress throughout her body. Overwhelmed with despair, tears streamed down her cheeks uncontrollably.

A young man watched her, a sly grin spreading across his face as he took in her tear-streaked yet beautiful visage. He cleared his throat and barked, “Get her in the car!”

From the side, a voice rang out, “Mr. Westbrook, when will we get a chance to enjoy the sweet lady?”

Coldly, the young man replied, “Once I’m finished with her, you can do as you please!”

Just as he reached out to grab her and pull her toward the car, a sudden scream pierced the air behind the men!

“Argh!”

Instantly, a chorus of painful screams erupted around them.

Furious, the young man turned and yelled, “What’s happening?”

But before he could react, a powerful gust of wind rushed toward him! He barely had time to dodge when a searing pain struck his face. Blood sprayed before his eyes as his nose snapped with a sickening crack, and crimson liquid flowed from his nostrils.

As if struck by a sledgehammer, he howled in agony, his body swaying before collapsing backward.

On the ground, he caught sight of his men sprawled out like lifeless bodies, resembling a pack of dead dogs.

Loreen looked up in horror, her wide, sparkling eyes filled with shock.

Before her stood a man in a black mask, his eyes sharp and cold, like daggers.

Surprise and relief washed over Loreen simultaneously. ‘Who is he? Is he here to save me? Yes, he must be here to help!’

The young man lay on the floor, blood coating his face.

The masked figure moved with astonishing speed, quickly subduing four of the attackers. The remaining men, momentarily stunned by the sudden ambush, soon snapped back to reality and charged at him, shouting for their comrades.

“Who… Who are you?” Loreen asked, gazing up at him as if she were in the presence of a superhero.

Instead of answering, the masked man swiftly scooped her up and dashed into the depths of an alley.

Gasping for breath, Loreen felt her heart racing in her chest, still reeling from the shock of the encounter.

Behind them, the angry shouts of the burly men and the roar of motorcycles filled the night air, clearly in hot pursuit.

The cool night breeze brushed against her face as the man sprinted away from the gang. Weak from blood loss and the panic of the situation, Loreen could do little more than cling to him.

Strangely, she sensed that the man’s breath felt oddly familiar.

Unbeknownst to her, the mysterious figure carrying her was none other than Charlie, her good friend’s husband.

As Charlie drove through the area, he noticed Loreen surrounded by a group of thugs. Alarmed that she might be in danger, he quickly donned a mask and rushed to her rescue.

Thanks to the transformation and enhancements from the Reiki of the white stone, Charlie’s abilities had significantly improved, boosting both his stamina and speed.

He zigzagged through various alleys, expertly evading their pursuers until they were finally out of sight.

After running a great distance with Loreen in his arms, Charlie came to a halt in the heart of a park.

As darkness settled in, the park became enveloped by dense foliage and bushes, providing an ideal hiding place should they be pursued further.

Setting Loreen down gently, Charlie frowned at the sight of her pants, soaked with blood.

Despite her severe blood loss, Loreen fought to remain conscious. Her face had turned pale, resembling a blank sheet of paper as she expressed her gratitude, “Thank you for saving me. May I ask… who… who are you?”
