Claire felt a bit down after hanging up the phone.

Concerned, Charlie asked, “What’s wrong?”

Claire briefly explained Lady Wilson’s request to Charlie.

Charlie nodded thoughtfully and suggested, “Why not ask Emgrand Group to prepay 20 million dollars for the project?”

Claire gasped in disbelief, exclaiming, “How could I possibly do that?! They’re out of our league! It’s an honor to work with them; we’d be looked down upon if we asked for payment before the project even begins.”

Internally, Charlie thought, ‘Your husband owns Emgrand Group—how could anyone look down on you for requesting a mere 20 million dollars?!’

However, Claire was oblivious to his thoughts and remained unaware of what was going through his mind.

After a sigh, she said, “I think I should go talk to Mr. Koch.”

“I’ll come with you,” Charlie offered.

“No, you can’t,” Claire replied, “Who brings their husband to meetings? That’s just unprofessional.”

Then, she added, “Just stay at home. If you’re really bored, go out. There’s not much to do here anyway.”

Seeing her determination, Charlie chose to remain silent.

He understood that Claire had always been an independent and committed businesswoman, eager to achieve success through her own efforts.

He figured it wouldn’t hurt to let her give it her best shot. If things didn’t work out, he would always be there to support her discreetly.

After breakfast, Claire scheduled a meeting with Daniel Koch and drove to Elite Vault Enterprise on her own.

Elite Vault Enterprise is one of the largest building materials companies in Aurous Hill and across the southern region. The company specializes in aluminum building materials and is a key supplier for major real estate projects.

Daniel Koch came from humble beginnings but struck it rich when he married into a wealthy family. With the support of his wife and her family, he was able to launch and grow his business into a significant enterprise.

He was also known locally as a hen-pecked husband. Despite his wife’s less-than-attractive appearance, he had never been involved in any affairs or scandals, which earned him a solid reputation as a devoted husband.

His business was situated on the outskirts of the city, occupying a vast factory that spanned thousands of acres.

When Claire arrived at the office building, Daniel was already in the lobby, waiting for her.

His face broke into a warm smile as soon as he spotted her. He approached Claire, extended his hand, and said, “Hi, Miss Wilson! Welcome! I should have arranged for a car to pick you up, I apologize!”

She tried to retract her hand, but Daniel held onto it tightly, refusing to let go, and even tightened his grip further.

Daniel sheepishly scratched his head and chuckled. “I’m so sorry! I’ve heard so many rumors about how stunning Miss Wilson is, and I’m completely captivated now that I get to meet you in person. I didn’t mean to frighten you; please forgive me!”

Claire felt a bit reassured by his candid admission and swift apology.
