Claire felt a stinging slap from the battle axe that sent her reeling, yet it brought her back to reality a bit.

As she cupped her swollen face, Claire looked at the menacing woman and asked, “Who are you? What do you want?”

The woman gritted her teeth in anger. “What do I want? I want to kill you, you little b*tch!”

Turning to the bodyguard beside her, she commanded, “Where’s the knife? Hand it over! I want to ruin this sl*t’s face!”

“Yes, Miss!” the bodyguard replied.

He quickly produced a sharp knife, saying, “Miss, don’t dirty your hands with her blood; let me take care of it!”

The woman slapped him hard and snatched the knife from his grip, shouting, “Shut up, you fool!”

The bodyguard fell to his knees, trembling. “Miss, I’m sorry! Please forgive me!”

“Move aside, idiot!” she growled, stepping over him.

With the knife firmly in hand, she turned her attention back to Claire, ready to pounce.

Claire trembled in fear, her body shaking uncontrollably. She struggled against the strong men holding her down, but the drug coursing through her made her feel weak and helpless.

Just then, a loud voice broke through the tension from the doorway. “Put down the bloody knife!”

The woman turned to see a young man rushing in, flanked by ten men dressed in black!

“Who the hell are you? How dare you interfere with my business? Do you even know who I am?”

Charlie shot back with fierce determination, “I don’t give a f*ck who you are!”

He stepped forward and delivered a powerful kick right to the woman’s stomach.

Seeing Charlie, Claire burst into tears, sobbing, “Dear, help me…”

Recalling the techniques from the Apocalyptic Book, Charlie channeled Reiki into his fists and unleashed it towards the two bodyguards restraining his wife.

In an instant, the two men were thrown back and crashed into the wall!

With her captors gone, Claire stumbled to the floor, her legs giving way beneath her.

Charlie rushed forward, catching her in his arms. His heart ached at the sight of the palm print on her bruised cheek.

“Claire, don’t worry. I’ll make them pay for what they did to you!”

Claire cried out in despair, clinging to Charlie as she pleaded, “Please, take me home…”

Charlie comforted her, gently patting her back. “I promise, I’ll get you home safely. No one will hurt you again!”

He then concentrated, gathering Reiki in his palm and infused it into Claire, helping her drift into a deep sleep.

After laying her on the sofa, he turned to Isaac and instructed, “Protect my wife!”

Isaac nodded resolutely. “Don’t worry, boss. My life is yours if anything happens to her while I’m on watch!”

Charlie then turned his glare back to the battle axe, who was clutching her stomach in pain. He grabbed her by the collar and delivered a punch to her face. “You slapped my wife, didn’t you?”

Blood trickled down her face as she screamed, “How dare you hit me! Do you know who I am? You’re a dead man!”

She shouted to her bodyguards, “Kill him! Kill him! I’ll give you a million if you take him out!”

The bodyguards, excited by the prospect of cash, rushed towards Charlie.

Without flinching, he commanded his men, “Take them down! All of them!”

The men in black swiftly drew their dark pistols, aimed with precision, and fired!

The bodyguards, caught off guard, never expected a gunfight.

In a matter of moments, every shot found its mark, expertly aimed at the bodyguards’ heads.

Within seconds, all the bodyguards lay lifeless on the ground, their heads marked by bloody gunshot wounds.

The woman stared in shock at the scene unfolding before her. “Who… who are you people?”

Charlie flashed a grin. “I’m Claire Wilson’s husband!”

Daniel, standing frozen in disbelief, trembled as he stammered, “You… you’re the live-in son-in-law… but… how… why…”

Charlie smirked wickedly. “What? Are you curious about how a supposedly lowly live-in son-in-law has such a powerful backing?”
