Jacob was over the moon with excitement. This was his first experience at such an upscale event, and he found himself glancing around in awe, though his nervousness caused him to move somewhat awkwardly.
Clutching the invitation card tightly, he approached the entrance of the venue, his mind racing with worry that the invitation Charlie had secured might be a fake.
To his relief, the security personnel scanned the card and confirmed its authenticity. The guard then turned to them with a respectful smile, saying, “Welcome! Please enjoy yourselves!”
Jacob let out a sigh of relief and stepped inside with Charlie.
As soon as they entered, they spotted Harold, who was dressed as if he were headed to a beach party, strutting in with confidence.
Upon noticing them, Harold’s expression soured, a flash of surprise crossing his face.
“What are those two deadbeat losers doing here?” he thought. The Wilson family had only one invitation, which he had in his possession! Were they trying to sneak in unnoticed?
Recalling the hardships Charlie had caused him, a wave of anger surged within Harold. He marched over and snarled, “Charlie, how did you manage to get in here? Do you even know where you are?”
Charlie grimaced at the sound of Harold’s harsh voice ringing in his ears.
Jacob, feeling a bit cheeky, smiled at Harold, saying, “Hey, Harold, fancy seeing you here!”
Harold not only despised Charlie but also looked down on Jacob, his uncle. He scowled and demanded, “What are you doing here? Do you have an invitation?”
“Of course!” Jacob replied, a bit too quickly.
“YOU? How did you get it?” Harold pressed further.
Charlie shot him an irritated glare and replied coolly, “Harold Wilson, where we got the invitation is none of your concern.”
Harold smirked condescendingly. “You two are just a couple of deadbeats. How could you possibly receive an invitation from the Moore family? It looks to me like you must have stolen it to get in here!”
“That’s ridiculous,” Charlie snapped, opting to ignore Harold further as he turned away.
Harold’s anger only intensified at Charlie’s dismissive attitude.
To Harold, Charlie was nothing more than a cowardly loser, akin to a servant in the Wilson family—an insignificant nobody!
Now, seeing Charlie and Jacob at Treasure Pavilion felt like a personal insult and a humiliation!

With a cold stare, he replied, “You want to see my invitation? You’re not worthy of it! Now, get lost!”
