Claire cautiously opened the door and inquired, “How can I assist you?” with a watchful expression.
Charlie frowned and stepped forward, positioning himself between Claire and the visitor. He asked coolly, “Are you here for me?”
Standing outside was a middle-aged man in a suit. Upon seeing Charlie, he smiled and greeted him respectfully, “Good day, Mr. Wade. I’m the new manager of Treasure Pavilion, having just started this afternoon. My boss regrets how you were treated earlier today, and he sent me with a gift to express his apologies.”
Charlie’s face showed surprise. “You work for Treasure Pavilion?”
“Treasure Pavilion?” Claire echoed, her surprise mirroring Charlie’s.
The man hurriedly explained, “Our boss was very upset about your abrupt departure from Treasure Pavilion today, Mr. Wade. He even expelled Mr. Harold from the premises and halted the auction immediately. I sincerely apologize for the poor treatment you received. I hope you can forgive us.”
After finishing his explanation, the middle-aged man gestured behind him.
At that moment, several strong men dressed in black rushed forward, carrying gifts and setting them down at their doorstep.
Charlie looked over and realized the man had brought an impressive array of gifts!
Among them were limited edition Yellow Crane Tower cigars and a box of thirty-year-old Moutai Flying Fairy liquor!
Additionally, he presented a pair of antique vases, clearly worth a significant amount.
These gifts totaled over a million dollars!
“Mr. Wade, these are the gifts my boss asked me to deliver from Treasure Pavilion. He is currently busy preparing for an upcoming auction with Miss Moore and couldn’t come in person. I’m here to extend our apologies on his behalf. Please accept them,” he said earnestly.
After speaking, the middle-aged man bowed to Charlie with respect.
Charlie nodded and replied, “Alright, you can leave the gifts here.”
The middle-aged man then produced two golden invitation letters from his pocket and handed them to Charlie with great respect. “These invitations are for you to attend our next auction. I hope you will join us with your father-in-law. I assure you, we will meet your expectations this time. Please give us a chance to rectify our earlier mistakes.”
He continued, “I’m also providing you with a special VIP card for Treasure Pavilion. Only ten of these VIP cards have been issued, and it’s valid for life. With this card, you’ll enjoy exclusive privileges whenever you visit.”
Charlie glanced at the golden VIP card adorned with golden leaves and diamonds.
He replied nonchalantly, “I’m not particularly interested in auctions. Maybe you could ask my father-in-law if he’d like the VIP card and to attend the auction.”
“Of course,” the middle-aged man said eagerly, turning to Jacob. “Mr. Wilson, I sincerely apologize for today’s events. I hope you will consider attending our auction in two days.”
“This…” Jacob gulped, eyeing the VIP card the man held.
He quickly recognized it as a limited edition card, granted only to individuals of the highest status in Aurous Hill. It wasn’t something that could be purchased.
With this VIP card, one could enter and exit Treasure Pavilion at will, receiving the best treatment from the staff. Furthermore, VIP cardholders had access to all antiques and would enjoy substantial discounts on purchases.
The allure of such an opportunity was irresistible to Jacob.
As Jacob contemplated accepting the VIP card, Charlie’s mother-in-law, Elaine, suddenly reached out and snatched the card from the middle-aged man with a playful grin.
“Since you’ve come here to apologize personally, we’ll gladly accept the gifts and the VIP card. My husband will definitely attend the auction the day after tomorrow!” she declared.
