The next morning, Graham arrived at Charlie’s house bright and early.
He patiently waited outside until Charlie emerged, heading to the market for some vegetables. Graham seized the moment to greet Charlie and presented him with a black card.
He revealed that the card held a staggering sum of over a few hundred million dollars, demonstrating his willingness to spend his entire fortune to rescue the Quinton family.
Accompanying Graham was Aurora, but this time, she exhibited a more humble demeanor compared to her previous arrogance.

Charlie shook his head in exasperation and reached out to help them both stand. As he held Aurora’s delicate hands, he felt a wave of unease wash over him.
Upon standing, Aurora blushed, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Charlie reassured them, saying, “Don’t worry. I will do my utmost to help the Quinton family avoid this disaster and ensure your safety.”
Both father and daughter were so moved that they were about to kneel again, but Charlie quickly stopped them. “Please, no more kneeling. It’s not necessary. You can go ahead, and I’ll call you when I have news.”
“Thank you, Mr. Wade!” they both expressed their gratitude before turning to leave.
After returning home from the market, Charlie was met by Jacob, who approached him nervously. “Charlie, were you speaking to Mr. Quinton outside earlier?”
“Yes, he wanted to discuss something important with me,” Charlie replied.
Jacob, concerned, remarked, “I could see the worry etched on his face. It didn’t look good. Is it about what you told him to do last time at Antique Street?”
Jacob had been anxious about this situation, doubting that Charlie knew what he was doing.
With a smile, Charlie reassured him, “Don’t worry, Dad. Mr. Quinton came to ask me to help rid his house of an evil spirit. He also entrusted me with his bank card to purchase anything useful for him at tomorrow’s auction.”
Jacob was taken aback and asked, “How much is on that black card?”
Charlie casually replied, “A few hundred million dollars.”
“What?!” Jacob exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock. He clutched his chest, feeling overwhelmed, as if he might faint!
In a state of panic, Jacob grabbed Charlie’s shoulders. “Charlie, you can’t keep lying to people! The Quinton family is giving you all that money to help them. What if something goes wrong? What if they discover you’ve deceived them? They could come after our whole family! You need to return that money!”
“Dad, please relax. I know what I’m doing. I promise everything will be fine,” Charlie reassured him.
Charlie continued, “This is serious, so I need you to keep this between us. Don’t tell Claire or Mom; it could spiral out of control…”
“I understand,” Jacob replied, knowing his wife well.
His wife was obsessed with money, often valuing it more than anything else.
If she found out about the bank card with hundreds of millions, she would likely spend it all without a second thought. They would then be accountable to the Quinton family.
That was an unimaginable amount of money!
Jacob felt his heart race at the thought of it. He persisted in urging Charlie to return the money to the Quinton family, but after a while, he realized that his pleas had little effect on Charlie. He slumped into a nearby sofa with a sigh.
