Sabrina crossed her arms defiantly, her voice dripping with arrogance as she declared, “Oh, I absolutely loathe you! What’s the matter? Can’t handle a little criticism, loser? Everyone at college knows you married Claire and are just a live-in son-in-law after graduation! You were a pathetic failure who couldn’t even afford a decent meal back then, and now you’re just a toyboy! How dare you come to me for help, you ridiculous loser? Who do you think you are?”
Inside Charlie, a simmering rage began to ignite. People typically don’t lash out unless provoked first, and Sabrina had crossed a line this time! Just then, he received a text from Stephen that read, “Young Master, the Wade family owns Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. The Shangri-La in Aurous Hill is just one of our many establishments worldwide.”
Charlie’s eyes widened in disbelief. Did Stephen just say that the Wade family owned Shangri-La hotels?
He quickly replied, “You’re not joking, are you?”
“Not at all. The person in charge of the Aurous Hill Shangri-La is Isaac Cameron. His number is 155… Give him a call, and he’ll take care of everything for you.”

Sabrina was growing increasingly annoyed by Charlie’s nonchalant demeanor, watching him text while she insulted him. It felt to her like bullying a dog, and she wanted nothing more than to hear him whimper. But to her surprise, Charlie remained silent. It seemed that, no matter the time that passed, he was still the same loser from college, unshaken by her taunts.
Encouraged, she raised the stakes, sneering, “Hey, Mr. Class Rep, you sure are good at taking insults!”
“By the way, I heard that you and Claire haven’t been intimate in three years. Is she actually someone else’s mistress, and you’re just her cover? Hahaha!”
Charlie’s expression darkened with indignation. “Not only are you insulting me, but you’re also disrespecting my wife. Sabrina Lee, you’re making a grave mistake!”
Fuming, he called Isaac Cameron’s number. Staring intently at Sabrina, he said flatly, waiting for the call to connect, “I’m going to ask your person in charge how Shangri-La hires staff when someone like you can work here!”
Just then, the call connected. “Hello, who is this?” a charismatic male voice inquired from the other end.
Charlie replied coldly, “Is this Isaac Cameron? I’m Charlie Wade, and I’m at the entrance of Shangri-La. You have one minute to get here, or you can leave Shangri-La!”
On the other end, the man’s confident tone instantly faltered as he panicked, “Young… Young Master? Are you really at the Shangri-La now?”
“Fifty seconds!”
Frantically, the man exclaimed, “Please hold on, I’ll be right there!”
Sabrina smirked, listening to Charlie’s conversation, and mockingly retorted, “Wow, Charlie! I didn’t know you were so good at bragging! Do you even know who Mr. Cameron is? Even the most elite members of Shangri-La wouldn’t dare to act so arrogantly in front of him! Do you really think I’m falling for your act?”
Charlie shot her a glare and replied coolly, “You’ll find out in thirty seconds if I’m just pretending!”
Sabrina laughed scornfully. “Alright, beloved class rep! I’ll wait thirty seconds! No, let’s make it three minutes. If Mr. Cameron doesn’t show up in three minutes, I’ll have the guards silence your lying mouth! Hahaha! This is too amusing!”
Twenty seconds later, a middle-aged man in a sharp, tailored suit rushed toward them, clearly flustered. He was an underling of the Wade family, but one with significant power. As the general manager of Shangri-La in Aurous Hill, he was a well-respected figure in the city. It had been ages since he had been this anxious. Yet, his panic was understandable; he never thought he would encounter the young master of the Wade family at Shangri-La.
As Sabrina prepared to continue her insults, she noticed the guards’ faces turn pale as they looked behind her. Following their stunned gazes, she turned to see Mr. Cameron approaching. Her eyes widened in shock, as if struck by lightning.
Turning back to Charlie, her expression was filled with horror. “This… how… how can this be?”
“Who is Mr. Charlie Wade?” Isaac’s voice trembled with fear and disbelief.
Everyone stood there, astonished, as the man who could shake Aurous Hill with a mere stomp of his foot appeared terrified, his voice quaking!
Charlie announced loudly, “That’s me!”
Isaac hurried towards him, bowing deeply. “Young…”
Charlie swiftly interrupted, “Mr. Cameron, some matters are best not discussed aloud in public.”
Isaac shook with nervousness at the reminder. “Oh, I’m such a fool! Young Master’s identity must be kept secret, and I almost revealed it! If I offend him, it would be the end for me!”
He quickly adjusted his tone, still respectful, “Mr. Wade, welcome to Shangri-La. Please follow me to my office for further discussion.”
Sabrina stood there, utterly speechless. She couldn’t grasp what was happening; who was Charlie Wade really? What was his true background? How could he command such respect from the head of Shangri-La, making him bow like a lowly servant? Surely, he wouldn’t hold her mockery against her, right?
