At this moment, Matthew was still on the ground, his face burning red with embarrassment. He felt utterly powerless, as if his body was no longer under his control, and he wished he could just disappear.

Jack waved his hand dismissively, causing Matthew to lose all his strength and crumple to the ground. Shame engulfed him completely.

“So, are you finally convinced, Mr. Gibson?” Zeke chuckled, clearly enjoying the spectacle.

Matthew gritted his teeth, feeling blood trickle from his gums as he muttered bitterly, “Fine, you win…you win…”

As Matthew hung his head in defeat, a heavy silence fell over the courtyard; no one dared to speak.

Jack then turned to Charlie and said, “So, you’re the one who snatched that valuable clam I wanted at the auction the other day. After witnessing my skills and abilities today, do you still have the audacity to act so arrogantly?”

Charlie shrugged casually and replied, “Just because you made a couple of moves, do you really think you’re unbeatable?”

At that moment, Jasmine quickly pulled Charlie aside and whispered urgently, “Mr. Wade, don’t provoke him right now. Mr. Yaleman has some real skills. Don’t jeopardize your life over pride.”

Jack sneered, “You’re young and naive. Do you really think you stand a chance against me? If you lose, you’ll return the clam to me because it rightfully belongs to me, and you’ll also kneel and apologize!”

Charlie smiled, unfazed, and replied, “Compete? Who do you think you are? Do you really believe you’re worthy of a challenge from me?”

The expressions of those present grew serious. This young man was incredibly bold. Who gave him the nerve to speak to Jack like that? Was he truly courting danger?

Silence enveloped the courtyard.

Jasmine was taken aback, standing up in shock. She sensed that Charlie’s words could escalate the situation dramatically.

Jack’s anger flared after hearing Charlie’s retort. He approached Charlie and said, “I’ve encountered many people in my life, but none like you. You seem to be inviting death.”

Charlie smiled again, saying, “And who are you to dictate life and death? Your decisions don’t necessarily dictate reality.”

Jack’s expression turned icy as he glared at Charlie.

Suddenly, a group of men burst through the door, led by Adam. As soon as Adam spotted Charlie, he shouted, “Charlie! You’re a liar and a con artist! You pretended to help the Quinton family while trying to deceive my second uncle and swindle our money! You’ve used the Quinton family’s funds to buy treasures at the auction, but thankfully, Mr. Yaleman saw through your deceit! Return the money you owe the Quinton family now, or I won’t spare your life today!”

Just then, Graham and Aurora entered the room. Graham felt embarrassed by Adam’s outburst but realized it was too late to stop him.

Charlie glanced at Graham but didn’t say a word.

However, that brief look made Graham uneasy. He smacked Adam on the head and attempted to clarify the situation to Charlie. “Mr. Wade, here’s what happened…”

Graham didn’t hold back; he recounted everything honestly from start to finish.

After hearing Graham, Charlie frowned slightly and asked coldly, “It’s just a little over one hundred million dollars. If you have any regrets, I can always refund you whenever you want.”

“Oh! Mr. Wade, please don’t say that. Why would I dare ask you for a refund after everything you’ve done for my family? I’m here today simply to meet the other masters.”

Graham was torn between believing Charlie was either highly skilled or just a fool. Being clever, he decided not to immediately turn against Charlie.

While he complimented Charlie, there was an underlying hesitation in his tone. Graham understood he couldn’t gauge Charlie’s abilities on his own. Instead, he planned to use Jack to test him.

If Charlie fell easily to Jack, Graham wouldn’t treat him so kindly anymore. He would demand all the money back, with interest!

Thus, he told Charlie and the other masters, “I won’t interfere with the situation right now. We can discuss this matter later. You should continue with your important tasks.”

Adam wanted to interject but held back, intimidated by Graham’s fierce glare.

Seeing this, Jack smiled at Graham and said, “Mr. Quinton, you’ve arrived just in time! I know the Quinton family has been facing many issues lately. I also understand that Charlie tried to use some talisman to help you. Today, I propose a competition between Charlie and me to see who can come up with a better solution to rid the Quinton family of the evil spirit haunting you! If you’re afraid to accept my challenge, I promise I’ll do everything in my power to ruin you!”

Charlie frowned and replied, “If you’re so eager to die, I’ll be happy to oblige.”
