This property belonged to Zeke, the current patriarch of the White family and Gerald’s uncle.

Just then, Wendy received a call from Gerald. “Wendy, it seems my uncle is extremely busy right now. He hung up on me without saying a word.”

With a sneer, Charlie took out his cellphone, activated the speakerphone, and dialed Zeke directly.

As soon as the phone rang, Zeke answered immediately.

Wendy was left speechless.

“Mr. Wade!” Zeke exclaimed, his voice dripping with flattery. “Mr. Wade, have you had a chance to visit the villa I gifted you? Are you pleased with it?”

Charlie quickly replied, “Yes, I’m currently at the villa. It’s truly beautiful. Thank you.”

Zeke responded, “Mr. Wade, you don’t have to thank me. I’m just happy that you like it!”

Charlie continued, maintaining his calm demeanor, “I’m calling to let you know that I’m very satisfied with the villa.”

“Mr. Wade, please feel free to let me know if you need anything else. I’ll do my utmost to assist you and ensure your satisfaction!”

Everyone surrounding Charlie was astonished.

They had not anticipated that Zeke had voluntarily gifted this villa to Charlie. Why would he do such a thing?

Moreover, Zeke was Wendy’s future father-in-law, yet he was so deferential and respectful towards Charlie. This only fueled Wendy’s frustration.

Finally unable to contain her anger, she interjected loudly, interrupting Charlie’s phone call, “Uncle White, I’m Gerald’s fiancée, Wendy. Why would you give Charlie this villa without any reason? Can you explain this to me?”

“What? Who do you think you are? Do you really believe you have the right to question my personal affairs?”

Zeke retorted coldly.

Wendy felt her face flush with embarrassment.

At that moment, Charlie calmly said, “Mr. White, I think you should clarify this situation. Otherwise, they’ll remain convinced that I tricked you into giving me the villa.”

“Alright!” Zeke responded promptly. “Since Mr. Wade requests an explanation, I will oblige him out of respect. I owe Mr. Wade a tremendous favor for saving my life. That’s why I’m gifting him this villa as a token of my gratitude. I hope you all will stop doubting Mr. Wade, as I won’t tolerate further skepticism!”

Wendy felt humiliated as her face turned red from the embarrassment of being reprimanded by her future father-in-law in front of everyone.

Seeing Wendy so upset, Christopher cleared his throat and said, “Mr. White, Wendy is still quite young. She only asked about the villa out of curiosity and meant no harm.”

Zeke ignored Christopher and turned to Charlie, asking respectfully, “Mr. Wade, is there anything else you would like me to clarify?”

“No, that’s all,” Charlie replied.

“Alright then. I won’t take up any more of your time, Mr. Wade. Please reach out if you need anything,” Zeke said before hanging up the phone.
