Jacob quickly responded, “Yes, Mom. Mr. White gave the villa to Charlie because he provided some advice about Feng Shui.”
“Feng Shui advice?” Harold scoffed, adding, “If Charlie really received the villa just for offering Feng Shui tips, then the entire Wilson family should quit their jobs and become Feng Shui experts!”
This remark drew snickers from everyone in the room.
Jacob could only manage a forced laugh in response to his relatives’ mockery.
In contrast, Christopher chuckled and said, “Mom, regardless of what kind of person Charlie is or how he came by the villa, Mr. White has personally confirmed that he gifted it to Charlie. So there’s really no need for Jacob to explain further.”
Jacob felt a wave of gratitude towards his brother for standing up for him, a rare occurrence given Christopher’s typical indifference.
Continuing with a smile, Christopher addressed Lady Wilson, “Mom, there’s no need to press Jacob for details. Mr. White’s clarification assures us that Charlie received the villa as a gift.”
“Alright,” Lady Wilson conceded, then turned her attention to Jacob. “Jacob, your older brother is planning to propose a match between Harold and Loreen from the Thomas family. What are your thoughts on this?”
“That sounds great,” Jacob replied, a smile on his face. “The Thomas family is well-respected and renowned in the capital. If Harold can marry Loreen, it would certainly benefit the Wilson family.”
“Indeed, it would be advantageous for us,” Lady Wilson sighed. “However, I feel the Wilson family cannot truly compare to the Thomas family. Even if your brother wishes to pursue Loreen for Harold, he might hesitate to approach the Thomas family.”
Jacob nodded earnestly, stating, “Honestly, I doubt Loreen would be interested in Harold either.”
