Jacob was taken aback and quickly responded, “Mom, I’m sorry, but the White family gave the villa to Charlie, not to me.”

At that moment, Lady Wilson began to lose her patience, no longer bothering to hide her intentions. Hearing Jacob’s words, she declared, “Charlie is the son-in-law of the Wilson family! Thus, the villa the White family gifted him also belongs to the Wilson family! As the head of the Wilson family, don’t you think I have the right to live in that villa?”

Charlie couldn’t help but sneer at the old lady’s statement. He had remained silent up until now, having anticipated that this family gathering would yield nothing positive.

Suddenly, Christopher chimed in triumphantly, “Jacob, you are Charlie’s father-in-law. If he doesn’t even listen to your commands, isn’t he being a bit too arrogant? What does that say about your status?”

“Exactly!” Lady Wilson replied, nodding in satisfaction. Her eyes gleamed with greed as she imagined living in the lavish villa in Thompson First.

Unable to contain herself, Claire spoke up, “Grandma, the villa doesn’t belong to the Wilson family. If you want to claim it, you must first consult Charlie. If he refuses to part with it, no one can take it from him!”

Lady Wilson frowned and shot a glare at Claire, clearly annoyed and displeased.

“Who gave you the right to speak?”

Turning her cold gaze back to Charlie, the old lady said, “The villa was given to you by the White family. As merely a son-in-law of the Wilson family, you’re unqualified to enjoy it. Tomorrow, go to the company’s finance department and collect one hundred thousand dollars as a reward for handing the villa over to me.”

Lady Wilson spoke with an air of authority, as if there was no room for negotiation.

At this point, Christopher added, “Charlie, one hundred thousand dollars is a substantial amount. You’re just a useless brat living off your wife. I doubt you’ve ever seen that much money before.”

Charlie lifted his head, glaring at Christopher with disdain. He sneered, “You think you can take the villa in Thompson First from me for a mere one hundred thousand dollars?! That villa is worth over one hundred million dollars! Lady Wilson, don’t you think that’s utterly shameless?”

His voice was strong and resonant, echoing throughout the living room.

The room fell into stunned silence, everyone’s eyes fixated on Charlie.

Claire was equally taken aback, not expecting Charlie to be so bold and assertive!

Lady Wilson’s expression changed immediately. She slammed her hands on the table and shouted, “Scumbag! How dare you talk back to me?! Men! Get Charlie out of my house right now!”

“You clearly don’t understand humility, and you show no respect for your elders! You are incredibly rude and arrogant!” Harold added, chastising Charlie. “Grandma, I believe you should teach Charlie a lesson based on the family’s rules! He’s merely a son-in-law; how could he be so disrespectful to you?”

Jacob could only stare at Charlie, too intimidated to speak up.

“Humble and respectful?” Charlie scoffed. He replied coldly, “I have no obligation to show respect to anyone here today! None of you deserve it. In fact, the only person worthy of my respect in this room is my father-in-law, Jacob!”

These individuals were simply greedy and materialistic. He had grown tired of them long ago!

Moreover, even though she was Jacob’s mother, Lady Wilson was consistently harsh and disrespectful towards her own son.

And Christopher, Jacob’s elder brother, had always looked down on him, coveting anything that belonged to his younger sibling.
