Jasmine hesitated for a moment, but deep down, she felt a strong sense of anticipation.

She then looked at Lord Moore and said, “Alright, Grandpa. I understand.”

Upon entering the house, he was surprised to find his entire family gathered in the living room, their faces serious.

As soon as Elaine spotted Charlie, she began to interrogate him. “Charlie, where have you been? Do you realize what time it is? How could you be out for so long? Do you even see this as your home?”

Just as Charlie was about to respond to Elaine’s barrage of questions, Claire suddenly interjected, “Mom!”

After Charlie placed some vegetables on the table, he casually asked, “What are you all discussing? Why does everyone look so serious?”

Jacob chimed in, “Have you heard the big news from Aurous Hill today?”

“What news?” Charlie inquired.

“Millennium Enterprise has declared bankruptcy! All of their partners have pulled out, and today, creditors showed up at their door demanding payment. The company collapsed overnight, and they owe billions in foreign debt. The owner, Peter Murray, was so distraught that he jumped off a building and is now in a vegetative state…”

Feigning ignorance, Charlie expressed surprise, “Oh? Really? That’s unfortunate.”

Jacob shook his head and sighed, “Peter Murray used to be a titan in Aurous Hill’s real estate sector. He was incredibly wealthy and influential. I wonder who he crossed to end up like this.”

“People like him deserve to fail,” Claire remarked coldly, showing no sympathy for someone like him who had tried to exploit her.

Elaine, meanwhile, sighed and said, “Do you realize how risky starting a business can be, Claire? If things go south, you might end up in a dire situation!”

She then turned to Claire and added, “I really think you should reconsider starting your own business. The risks are just too high! You should go back to working for Wilson Group. Your grandmother has promised me that she’ll make you the director there, and you’ll have a stable annual salary. Wouldn’t that be a better option than venturing out on your own?”
