Don Albert kept his voice low as the city’s elite gathered in his restaurant. Though he was the host, he moved around the room, wagging his tail at Charlie like an eager pug, hoping to catch his attention.

Charlie looked over the lavish spread and decorations, flashing a smile at Don Albert. “Great work, Albert. I appreciate the arrangements.”

Albert beamed like a child who just got a treat and replied, “It’s my pleasure to serve you. Please, take a seat.”

Charlie nodded and settled into the main chair at the table.

With a respectful bow, Albert said, “If you need anything, just call for me. I’ll be right by the door!”

He then quietly stepped out of the suite, standing by the door like a diligent waiter.

Albert Rhodes was known as the king of the underworld in Aurous Hill, but in this moment, he felt like a mere thug, unworthy of sitting at the table with Charlie and his esteemed guests. Just being able to speak with Charlie was a privilege for him.

As soon as Charlie took his seat, Jasmine followed suit, sitting closely to his right. They were nearly touching, and Charlie could faintly catch the scent of her perfume.

According to proper etiquette, the most important person occupies the head seat, with others of lesser rank seated alongside them.

Among the guests, the Moore family held the most prominence, so Jasmine, as their representative, naturally found herself beside Charlie.

This made the empty seat next to Charlie the most coveted spot, with everyone eager to claim it.

Graham gently nudged Aurora and said to Charlie, “Master Wade, my daughter has long admired you ever since she witnessed your incredible abilities. She regards you as her idol. Would you allow her to sit beside you so she can get to know you better?”

Jasmine raised her eyebrows and shot a meaningful glance at Graham.

Meanwhile, Zeke silently cursed Graham for being so shameless, sending his daughter over to get closer to Master Wade. He felt frustrated, especially since he had no daughters of his own; if he did, Graham wouldn’t have been able to make such a move so easily.

Aurora’s face turned as red as a cherry tomato, feeling shy and embarrassed. She acknowledged her feelings for Master Wade and remembered her father’s advice to seize her chances, but doing so in front of so many people was quite daunting.

Despite her embarrassment, Aurora was straightforward. She cleared her throat and said, “Master Wade, may I take the seat next to you?”

Charlie was momentarily taken aback but replied, “You’re welcome to. Please, have a seat.”

Aurora beamed with joy, thanking him as she hopped into the empty chair beside Charlie.

Anthony watched enviously, wishing his granddaughter could have sat next to Master Wade. His hesitation had allowed Aurora to seize the opportunity.

While it might be unrealistic to think of Xyla as Master Wade’s wife, having him as her mentor and guide would be an incredible honor and blessing.
