The Amazing son in law Chapter 36
Charlie instructed her to keep a close watch on Loreen after she started her job and to report any unusual behavior back to him. After his conversation with Doris, Charlie hailed a taxi to the airport to pick up Loreen. Upon arriving, he stepped out of the taxi and was about to enter the arrival hall when a Mercedes-Benz G-Class suddenly screeched to a halt in front of him. Harold, Claire’s cousin, poked his head out of the car window, scowling at the sight of Charlie. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to pick up Claire’s friend. What about you?” Charlie replied, returning Harold’s frown as he noticed the familiar faces of Gerald and Wendy seated in the car.
Harold smirked. “Are you referring to Miss Thomas? We’re here to entertain her, so you’re just in the way—why don’t you just leave?”
Charlie scoffed dismissively, saying, “You’re the one who should get lost.” Ignoring them, he strode into the airport’s arrival hall.
Harold’s face flushed with anger, and he was ready to hurl insults at Charlie when Wendy quickly pulled on his arm. “Hey, Miss Thomas will be here any minute. Remember Grandma’s advice? You need to make a good impression. If you win her over, your standing in the family will be unbeatable! Just let the loser be for now.”

Harold blinked in surprise as he processed his sister’s urgency. He had nearly forgotten the main reason for his presence today. Welcoming Loreen to the city was indeed a secondary task; his primary goal was to impress her and win her heart. The Thomas family held significant influence in Eastcliff, and a relationship with Loreen would elevate his own status and bolster the Wilson family’s reputation. Thus, he swallowed his irritation with Charlie and hurriedly exited the car, rushing toward the arrival hall.
At that moment, a striking young woman caught everyone’s attention as she stood out in the crowd. Her long maroon hair flowed down her back like a waterfall, and she wore a white dress that highlighted her graceful figure. Although she had sunglasses on, they couldn’t hide her captivating beauty. Her skin was smooth and porcelain-like, complemented by fiery-red lips. Upon closer inspection, her features and figure rivaled Claire’s, each possessing their own unique allure.
All eyes in front of the arrival hall were momentarily fixed on her. Harold was equally taken aback by her presence, and even Gerald, who had come along as a plus one, was struck by her beauty. He couldn’t help but exclaim, “She truly embodies the reputation of a daughter from Eastcliff’s elite. Her beauty and grace are remarkable.”
Just then, Loreen spotted them in the crowd and quickly made her way over while waving enthusiastically. “Harold, Wendy, and Charlie! Hey, it’s been a while!”
Harold felt a surge of excitement welling up inside him. He quickly replied, “Hey, Loreen! It’s great to see you again. You look more beautiful than ever!”
Charlie offered a polite smile and added, “Hi, it’s been some time.”
Harold jumped in, “Loreen, I’ve booked a suite at the best hotel in Aurous Hill just for your arrival. Come on, let’s go!”
Loreen glanced at Charlie before turning to Harold with an apologetic smile. “Harold, I’m really sorry, but I’ve already accepted Claire and Charlie’s invitation. Let’s postpone our plans for drinks, okay? I’ll be in Aurous Hill for a while, so we’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet.”
Frustration began to boil within Harold, replacing the earlier excitement. Charlie, the loser, had come to spoil his chance to impress Loreen on such an important day. With a sarcastic edge, he remarked, “Loreen, I reserved a suite at Heaven Springs, the most renowned restaurant in Aurous Hill, just for you. By the way, it’s the Golden Suite, which has a minimum spend of three hundred thousand dollars!” He shot a contemptuous glare at Charlie and added with a malicious grin, “I can only imagine where my lowly cousin-in-law decided to take you. It would be quite disrespectful if he booked some mediocre place!”
