Doris became alert and wary as soon as Loreen spoke up. Just the day before, Charlie had asked her to keep an eye on Loreen. When Loreen reported for duty, her first question was about the chairman, which struck Doris as strange and out of the ordinary. She scrutinized the attractive young woman and thought, ‘What brings you all the way to Emgrand Group?’

With a friendly smile, Doris replied, “Our chairman doesn’t often come to the office, but if he does, I’ll make sure to let him know you’re here, and I’ll inform you if he wishes to see you.”

Loreen’s disappointment was evident, but she maintained her cheerful demeanor, saying, “Okay, thank you, Miss Young!”

Once back in her office, Doris wasted no time in reporting Loreen’s behavior to Charlie. Thank you for your understanding!”

Claire stared in disbelief when she read the notice. “Wow, someone actually booked the Sky Garden? That’s incredible!”

Charlie chuckled, finding her reaction amusing. “What’s so incredible about it? It’s just a ballroom; why shouldn’t people be able to book it?”

“No, you don’t get it,” Claire replied earnestly. “This Shangri-La isn’t just any local business; it’s part of a luxurious global hotel chain. The Sky Garden is a standout feature, reserved exclusively for their top-tier members. If reservations were allowed, every top member would be fighting to book it every day, depriving others of the privilege. That’s why they’ve put a stop to any reservations for the ballroom.” She sighed and added, “I wonder who the person is that managed to secure it. They must be someone quite special!”

With a teasing smile, Charlie said, “Maybe it’s someone who truly loves his wife and wishes to hold a wedding here for her!” Claire gasped in surprise, “Wow! A wedding for his wife here?! He must really adore her. It must be wonderful to be that wife!”
