Named The Charm, Douglas’s restaurant occupied a prominent corner on a wide, newly paved street. The two-story building had an inviting exterior, and its name hinted at an artistic flair.

As Charlie pulled up to the restaurant, he noticed a line of cars parked near the entrance and a group of people gathered in front of a golden BMW, chatting and smoking.

To his surprise, Charlie recognized them as some of his college classmates, though he had never been particularly close to them.

One member of the group stood out in Charlie’s memory—Clinton Tucker, a well-known wealthy student back in college who had harbored feelings for Claire, which she had never returned.

At that moment, Clinton leaned casually against his golden BMW, basking in the admiration of his friends. “Clinton, you’re such a champ! It’s been how long since we graduated? And look at you, already driving a BMW! Is that the 540? The top-of-the-line model?” one of them exclaimed.

Clinton chuckled arrogantly, replying, “Haha, this 540? It’s just, what, seven or eight hundred thousand dollars? I use it for my daily commute; it’s really no big deal.”

“Wow! A 540? That’s the priciest option in the 5 Series!” another friend chimed in.

“I can’t even manage the down payment on a BMW 1 Series. Clinton, you’re incredible!”

“Your ride must be a powerhouse, right?” someone asked eagerly.

With a smug expression, Clinton said, “Eh, it’s just nice. The acceleration is pretty strong, and I haven’t seen a car on the street that can keep up with mine.”

“That’s so cool! I wish I could afford a BMW. My girlfriend is always critical, saying I can’t even get a decent car. It’s frustrating!”

Suddenly, someone spotted another BMW approaching and gasped. “Wow, is that another BMW? Could it be one of our classmates?”

“Oh my god! Is that Charlie the loser?!”

“Wait, I think the girl in the passenger seat is Claire! What the heck, the loser drives a BMW! It must belong to Claire, not him. What a joke!”

Clinton’s expression darkened as he noticed Charlie in the car. “Ugh, it’s that bastard! He’s so lucky!”

Meanwhile, someone in the group asked, “What series is he driving?”

Charlie maneuvered the car closer and then reversed into a parking spot. Upon seeing the 520 badge on the back, Clinton smirked derisively. “Hah, the 520—the lowest model of the 5 Series! Only a pretentious loser like him would drive that!”

One of Clinton’s friends nodded in agreement. “Clinton, your car is the premium model of the 5 Series, while his is the most basic. Yours must be way better!”

Clinton scoffed, “I could buy two of his cars for the price of mine!”

“You’re the best, Clinton!” his friends cheered.

Meanwhile, Charlie had parked the car, and Claire and Loreen stepped out, making their way toward the restaurant first.

The guys blinked in astonishment and rushed to greet them, exclaiming, “Wow, look at our two beauties!”
