Since moving to Aurous Hill with her father, Nanako Ito has never returned to Japan.
Charlie Wade had initially promised to join her in experiencing the beauty of Japan’s four seasons, but life had other plans, leading Nanako to choose to settle in Aurous Hill. After the hillside villas were cleared and restored, Charlie gifted one to Nanako. She visits almost daily for meditation and returns to Tomson Yipin each night to be with her father, Ito Takehiko.
As Charlie said goodbye to Yun Ruge, he called Nanako. Upon learning that she was at the hillside villa, he decided to drive over right away.
Upon hearing that Charlie was coming, Nanako felt a thrill of excitement. She stepped into the courtyard wearing a delicate light pink kimono.

With a smile, she continued, “The room is very warm, and I don’t feel cold after being outside for a bit. Ever since my realization, I’ve noticed my physical strength has improved significantly. I believe I’m not as sensitive to the cold anymore.”
Charlie nodded, smiling. “It’s mainly the drop in temperature today. I saw you in such light clothing and instinctively worried you’d be cold, but I forgot you’ve already reached a new level of understanding, and a little chill doesn’t bother you.”
Feeling touched by Charlie’s concern, Nanako blushed and quickly invited him inside. “Mr. Charlie Wade, please come in! We have some tea sent from Kyoto.”
As they entered the house, Nanako had elegantly decorated the living room in a subtle Japanese style. She invited Charlie to sit on the tatami mat and prepared tea for him using the Japanese tea ceremony. Charlie, concerned, asked, “Nanako, have you made any progress in your cultivation lately?”
Nanako replied earnestly, “I believe I’ve improved my control over the flow of spiritual energy in my body, but the progress is still limited.”
Charlie smiled and said, “You can’t rush the process of cultivation. Spiritual energy isn’t just a simple force; it’s more like an extension of a new sense. You need to learn to skillfully manipulate it and perceive everything around you through it, not just within yourself.”
Nanako smiled back, saying, “You’re right, Mr. Charlie Wade. I’m not overly anxious.”
Charlie nodded and added, “By the way, I’ll be heading to Tokyo the day after tomorrow and will return in a couple of days.”
“Going to Tokyo?” Nanako exclaimed in surprise. “Are you going to see a game or a concert?”
Charlie, without thinking, replied, “To a concert.”
Nanako laughed, “Are you going to see Tawanna Sweet’s concert?”
Charlie was taken aback. “You’ve heard about it too?”
Nanako giggled, “Tawanna has a huge following and many fans. Her concerts are always packed, with fans traveling from all over the world. It’s said that each concert can inject hundreds of millions, even billions, into the local economy. My best friend in Tokyo invited me to go a few days ago, but I turned it down because I’m focused on my cultivation right now.”
