The Amazing son in law Chapter 7184
Despite the recent tension with Tawanna, Trevor still held a deep affection for her. He couldn’t bear the thought of leaving her to face this situation without support.
Moreover, Tawanna’s team and assistants were busy getting ready for the performance backstage. They were close by, but calling for help at this point would likely be too late, so Trevor felt compelled to stay by her side.
At that moment, an agent approached Trevor and inquired, “Are you Trevor Kennedy?”
“That’s me,” Trevor affirmed, nodding. “I’m Tawanna’s boyfriend and I have the right to ensure her safety.”
The agent replied, “Yes, you certainly have that right. However, you are also on the list of individuals the FBI needs to question. We need you to accompany us to the embassy. There are a few questions that require your input, but don’t worry, it won’t take long. Once we’re done, you can reach out to Miss Sweet’s lawyer and have her waiting at the embassy.”
Trevor appreciated the agent’s straightforward and friendly demeanor, so he responded, “Alright, I’ll go with you.”
Seeing Trevor make this decision eased some of Tawanna’s anxiety. She looked at him with gratitude shining in her eyes.
Together, they stood up and walked out alongside the agents.
Mitsui Yoshitaka quickly stepped forward, handing Trevor his business card. “When you get to the embassy, if time is tight, feel free to call me. I can delay or even cancel the performance if necessary.”
The CIA agent smiled and assured him, “Mr. Mitsui, there’s no need to worry. We typically don’t postpone Miss Sweet’s performance. After all, she has significant social influence, and we want to avoid any public disturbances.”
“That’s reassuring,” Mitsui Yoshitaka replied, visibly relieved. “Please handle this as quickly as possible.”
The agent nodded and said, “We will do our best, but the pace is ultimately determined by Washington. It’s late there, and they’re also working overtime. I’m confident they won’t intentionally cause any delays.”
With that, the agent signaled to his team, and they escorted Tawanna and Trevor away from the party.
As the host, Mitsui Yoshitaka chose to accompany them, intending to see them into the car. A few guests, curious about the unfolding situation, attempted to follow, but Mitsui turned to signal them to stop. Understanding the cue, the guests complied and held back.
Meanwhile, Charlie Wade, who had been quiet until now, frowned and declared to Claire, “I’m stepping out for a bit.”
Claire quickly replied, “Didn’t Mr. Mitsui ask everyone to go out with him?”
“I need to have a private conversation with Mr. Mitsui. It’s about the Feng Shui of this place,” Charlie Wade explained.
Claire tugged at his sleeve and whispered, “Husband, let’s not get into business matters here… The Japanese might not believe in this…”
Charlie Wade smiled reassuringly, “I’m not looking to expand business; just offering a friendly reminder. He’s not Miss Fei’s friend.”
Fei Kexin, understanding Charlie’s intent, encouraged Claire, “Let Mr. Wade go. The Japanese, like us, have a respect for Feng Shui and Zhouyi. Their traditional culture shares roots with ours, after all.”
Seeing Fei Kexin’s support, Claire relented. “Alright, go ahead and return quickly. If he doesn’t seem interested, don’t push it.”
“Don’t worry,” Charlie Wade winked at Claire with a smile and hurried off.
Remembering something, Fei Kexin said to Claire, “I’ll join you to help explain things to Mr. Mitsui.”
She quickly caught up with Charlie Wade and whispered, “Mr. Wade, what’s going on?”
Charlie Wade replied flatly, “Ninja.”
