Charlie Wade stepped out of the car alongside Pete Roger and the driver.

When Sanjing Yoshitaka saw Charlie, he rushed over like a long-lost child finding his parent. Gripping Charlie’s hand tightly, he said with emotion, “Mr. Wade, you saved my life!”

Charlie responded calmly, “Mr. Sanjing, I’m entrusting this person to you for now.”

Sanjing turned to Peter Roger, his face full of anger. “How dare you commit murder on Sanjing family territory? I’ll make sure you pay for this!”

Terrified by Sanjing’s fury, Peter Roger looked to Charlie for help.

Charlie addressed Sanjing firmly, “You can’t kill these people. Protect them and ensure they don’t cause further trouble. Also, keep this incident strictly confidential.”

Surprised, Sanjing blurted out, “Why spare their lives, Mr. Wade? People like this don’t deserve to live!”

Charlie frowned, his voice turning cold. “I said they must be protected. Is that clear?”

Realizing Charlie’s resolve, Sanjing reluctantly agreed. “Understood, Mr. Wade. I’ll do as you say.”

Charlie’s gaze sharpened. “I’ve dealt with many Japanese, and I’ve found few who honor their word. If you go back on your promise, I’ll make you pay the price—no matter where you are.”

Sanjing felt a chill under Charlie’s piercing stare and nodded. “I won’t break my promise, Mr. Wade.”

Charlie turned to Pete Roger. “From now on, Mr. Sanjing will oversee your safety and daily needs. I’m not interested in who’s behind you. Just stay out of trouble, and our agreement will hold.”

Grateful, Pete Roger replied, “Thank you, Mr. Wade!”

Charlie then gave Sanjing another instruction. “Treat them as guests of honor. No intimidation, and don’t force them to speak. Do you understand?”

Although displeased, Sanjing obeyed. “Yes, Mr. Wade. I’ll follow your instructions.”

Charlie added, “Some of them are injured. Make sure they receive proper treatment and care.”

Sanjing accepted the task without protest, thinking Charlie’s demands couldn’t get much stranger.

Next, Charlie addressed everyone. “Mr. Sanjing, block all news about this. Clear the area of vehicles and traces—this incident never happened.”

Sanjing nodded. “Understood, Mr. Wade. I’ll handle it.”

Charlie turned to Pete Roger. “From now on, cut off all outside contact and follow Mr. Sanjing’s arrangements.”

Pete replied respectfully, “Yes, Mr. Wade. My real name is Liam Smith, and I served in the U.S. Marine Corps.”

Charlie then looked at Tawanna. “Ms. Sweet, take some rest and prepare for tonight’s concert. Don’t tell anyone about this—not even your parents.”

Tawanna, overwhelmed, cried, “I don’t want to perform! Cancel the concert!”

Sanjing, alarmed, tried to calm her. “Miss Sweet, canceling now would disappoint your fans, many of whom traveled far to see you. It would also harm your reputation.”

Still tearful, Tawanna insisted, “I almost died today! I don’t care about the concert—I just want to go back to the U.S.!”

Charlie interjected coldly, “The people who want you dead are in the U.S. You can’t go back today. You’ll finish tonight’s performance as planned. I already have the song list, and I’ll ensure you perform every song on it.”
