The man wore a smug grin as he pinched Lily’s cheek and declared, “You’re my woman now! Why would you still want to be with him? I don’t allow any other men to touch what’s mine!”

Lily quickly tried to soothe him with a playful tone, “Oh, Jerome, don’t worry! Ever since we got together, I haven’t let him touch me. He’s just so filthy! My body belongs to you and only you!”

She continued, “Honestly, I wanted to break things off with him as soon as the restaurant opened, but I didn’t realize that the loser had a friend who was resourceful enough to help me deal with Scarface at the redevelopment zone. Just wait until our business is successful—I’ll kick him out of the restaurant for good!”

Jerome Hunt chuckled arrogantly, saying, “It’s just Scarface! If you had told me sooner, all I’d need is one phone call and his boss would come begging for your forgiveness!”

Lily laughed with delight and replied, “Oh, Jerome, you’re my hero! It was such a pressing situation at the time, I didn’t manage to reach out to you. Plus, Douglas was there, and I didn’t want to bother you with that!”

Jerome playfully pinched her waist, laughing, “You’re such a good girl!”

Lily affectionately rubbed against him like a cat and said, “Jerome, could you please get me that BMW X6 now?”

Jerome smirked confidently, “Later, sweetheart. First, we’ll head to my place, and I’ll pamper you a bit. Then, after you ditch that loser, I’ll buy you that X6 tomorrow!”

Lily squealed with joy, “Jerome, is that true? You’ll really buy me the X6 tomorrow?”

“When have I ever lied to you?” Jerome grinned. “But remember, you need to make me happy first!”

Lily looked at him flirtatiously, “You naughty dog! Don’t worry, you’ll be on cloud nine when we get to your place later!”

With that, they turned and exited the BMW showroom.

Meanwhile, Charlie felt a surge of disgust at the sight of the couple. He immediately pulled out his phone and called Douglas.

As soon as the call connected, Douglas’s surprised voice rang through, “Charlie, how are you? What’s with the sudden call?”

Charlie replied flatly, “Just wanted to check in. What are you up to?”

“I’m at my restaurant, busy as usual. It’s almost lunch hour, and customers will be arriving any minute, so I’m here to help out,” Douglas explained.

“Do you go to the restaurant every day?”

“Absolutely! We’re just getting started, and there’s a lot to manage. Plus, more than half of the capital comes from Lily’s father. They’d look down on me if I didn’t put in the effort.”

“How much did you invest in the restaurant?”

“A hundred grand—all my savings since graduation,” he replied.

“Who officially owns the restaurant?”

“That would be me, of course!”

“Is your name on the business registration?”

“Nope, it’s registered under Lily’s father’s name. Since we’re not married yet, it wouldn’t be appropriate to put mine down, especially as he invested the bulk of the money.”

Douglas continued, “But her father promised he’d transfer ownership to me once Lily and I are married.”

Charlie shook his head in disbelief at Douglas’s words. This poor guy didn’t even realize he was being played!

Lily was treating him like a servant, keeping him busy with the restaurant while she was unfaithful with a wealthy man and planning to kick him to the curb!

Douglas had no legal claim to the restaurant since it wasn’t registered in his name. If Lily betrayed him, he would walk away with nothing—his hard work would be in vain, and he wouldn’t even get back his hundred grand!

Charlie’s disgust for Lily grew stronger. He asked Douglas directly, “Where’s Lily now?”
