Douglas chuckled softly, “She’s at the hair salon. Why do you ask?”

Charlie raised an eyebrow with a smirk. “Hair salon? Is that really what she told you?”

“Yes!” Douglas replied, a hint of confusion in his voice.

“And you actually believe her?” Charlie pressed on.

“Charlie, what are you implying? Just come out with it—stop dancing around the subject,” Douglas urged in a curious tone.

Charlie let out a thoughtful hum before saying, “Alright, here it is. I spotted Lily at the BMW showroom with a guy named Jerome Hunt. They were all over each other, hugging and cuddling, and she even called him ‘dear’. It looks like she’s cheating on you.”

“No way!” Douglas exclaimed, his voice raised in disbelief. “Lily would never do that! Are you sure it was her?”

“Absolutely, it was her,” Charlie asserted firmly.

“No! I refuse to believe it!” Douglas shot back coldly. “Charlie, I consider you a good friend, but you can’t slander my fiancée just because we’re close!”

“Douglas, open your eyes! Your fiancée is with another man, and that jerk Jerome even promised to buy her a BMW X6. They’ve gone back to his place, and she plans to break up with you tonight! As your friend, I strongly advise you to prepare yourself!”

Without waiting for Douglas’s reaction, Charlie continued, “You should move that painting I gave you to a safe place. It could be your starting capital for a fresh beginning. But if you still refuse to believe me, then there’s nothing more I can do.”

Douglas was pacing anxiously, muttering, “Charlie, stop this nonsense! Lily is my fiancée. I know her well—she would never betray me! I swear I’ll kick your ass if you talk bad about her again!”

Charlie frowned, his disappointment evident. “Alright then. I’ve done my part as a friend by giving you the warning. If you choose not to believe me, that’s on you. Good luck!”

With that, Charlie ended the call abruptly.

He shook his head in frustration, muttering to himself, “What a fool, blinded by love! I should have recorded a video and sent it to him when I had the chance!”

At that moment, the manager of the BMW showroom knocked on the window and asked, “Sir, how do you feel about the car? Do you like it?”

Charlie nodded affirmatively. “Yes, it’s fantastic! I’ll take this one. Please get me a new one from the warehouse.”

The manager grinned widely. “Of course! Please give me a moment, and I’ll have someone bring it out front.”

Shortly after, a sleek black BMW 530 pulled up to the entrance, driven by a salesman. Charlie took out his card, made the payment, folded his small scooter, tucked it into the trunk, and drove off casually.

On his way home, Charlie received multiple calls from his in-laws asking when he would arrive.

When he got back, he noticed his in-laws waiting outside the gate.

Excited and nervous smiles spread across their faces as they saw Charlie pull up in the BMW 530.

Jacob circled the car in awe, exclaiming, “Wow, this is an amazing car! I never imagined I would ever get to drive a BMW!”

Charlie replied with a smile, “Dad, who knows? You might even drive a Rolls-Royce someday!”

Jacob chuckled joyfully. “Well, my hopes rest on you and Claire!”

Elaine beamed with happiness, her gaze toward Charlie softening with warmth.

Jacob hopped into the car and took it for a spin around the neighborhood. When he returned, he remarked, “This car is not only beautiful, but it’s also very comfortable! However, it’s a bit too long for me to handle. Charlie, can you drive me this afternoon? I have some business to take care of.”

Charlie nodded, “Sure thing, Dad.”

Elaine chimed in excitedly, “And I want you to drive me too! I need to impress my friends with the fact that I have someone to chauffeur me in a BMW!”
