Charlie nodded eagerly. “What if I take care of the repairs?”

Raymond scoffed, “I’ll need to consult the appraisers first. If they confirm you’ve managed to fix it and recover most of the damage, then I’ll let both of you leave!”

“Sounds good!” Charlie replied with a grin. “It’s a deal!”

With that, he swiftly turned back to his workstation and began his task in silence. Armed with a brush, he carefully outlined the vase on a sheet of Chinese rice paper.

Next, he gently tapped an egg to create a small crack, dipped his index finger into the egg white, and applied it to a fragment of the vase before pressing it against the paper model. He repeated this process for each fragment, steadily covering the paper with pieces of the vase.

Everyone held their breath, watching intently, afraid to disrupt his restoration efforts.

Before long, half an hour had flown by.

When Charlie finally stood up, the once-damaged fragments had transformed into a stunning Tang Dynasty Yuhuchun vase that seemed to radiate new life.

He smiled at Raymond, saying, “Take a look and see if you can find any flaws.”

Raymond picked up the vase, examined it briefly, and then grimaced in contempt. “You must be joking! Do you really think you’ve repaired it by just applying some egg liquid? Seriously? Why don’t I break your leg and stick it back together with egg liquid, huh?!”

“Don’t you dare touch the vase!”

Suddenly, a sharp and concerned voice echoed from the doorway.

A striking young woman in a white casual suit stepped inside. She possessed a breathtaking beauty and a statuesque figure, standing at around 1.7 meters tall. As she surveyed the room with a cool, haughty gaze, she emanated an air of elegance akin to that of a snow queen.

Raymond’s expression changed dramatically upon seeing her. He bowed his head respectfully and asked, “Miss, what brings you here?”

The young lady was Jasmine Moore, the owner of Vintage Deluxe and a prominent member of the Moore family, one of the leading families in Aurous Hill.

Jasmine, her face flushed with anger, exclaimed, “If I hadn’t arrived, I fear you would have single-handedly ruined this shop! What on earth is happening?”

Raymond offered a sheepish smile and replied, “A customer accidentally broke the vase while examining it. His son-in-law attempted to repair it with egg, which is utterly absurd. I was just about to discuss compensation with them.”

Jasmine leaned closer to the vase, studying it intently, and a look of shock crossed her face!

She turned to Raymond, scolding, “Put it down, you fool! Don’t lay a finger on it if you don’t know what you’re doing!”

Raymond, taken aback by her sudden outburst, stammered, “Miss, I don’t understand…”

“This is an artifact that has just undergone restoration. Only restoration experts are allowed to handle it! Don’t you know the rules?”

Raymond hesitated, “But… he just used some eggs to stick it together. That hardly counts as restoration, does it?”

Fury blazed in Jasmine’s eyes as she retorted, “You clueless fool! After restoration, the vase’s value will at least double, but thanks to your careless handling, it will lose at least two million! Pack your things; you’re fired!”

She recalled a porcelain plate from the same era as the Yuhuchun vase that had sold for a staggering 13 million dollars at an auction in Shipton. The plate had a fascinating history, having been broken during the Song Dynasty and restored by a skilled craftsman using the same rare method now applied to the vase.

Because of the unique nature of that restoration technique, the porcelain plate’s auction price had soared well beyond its original value.

Now, with Charlie’s expert restoration of the Yuhuchun vase, its value was destined to rise significantly!

Raymond felt the color drain from his face at Jasmine’s command. He hadn’t anticipated that a simple touch could lead to such a massive loss and cost him his job.

Jasmine then demanded, “Who is the master who repaired this vase? I need to see him immediately!”
