Charlie accepted the card, nodding. “I’m Charlie Wade, but I don’t have a business card.”
“That’s alright,” Jasmine replied. “Could you share your phone number with me instead?”
Charlie regarded her cautiously. He believed that establishing connections could be beneficial. Moreover, Jasmine Moore appeared polite and humble, unlike others who might be arrogant and domineering. Making friends with her seemed harmless.
So, he exchanged phone numbers with her.
Afterward, Jasmine asked, “Mr. Wade, would you like me to give you a ride home?”
Charlie waved his hand in response. “Thank you, but I drove here.”
Jasmine nodded. “Then I’ll see you off!”
She accompanied Charlie and Jacob to the BMW 530. Once they drove away, she returned to Vintage Deluxe.
On their way home, Jacob inquired curiously, “Charlie, where did you learn the art of cultural relic restoration?”

So, he fabricated a lie. “I learned it from a cleaner at the orphanage.”
Jacob nodded in understanding. “Thank goodness you were there; otherwise, I might be behind bars right now…”
