Jasmine recognized Charlie’s attempt to manipulate the situation, so she adopted a serious expression and played along. “The Moore family wields significant power. Anyone who dares to deceive us will certainly face severe consequences. We cannot afford to let them go unpunished, as it would tarnish our reputation!”

With a dagger suddenly drawn from his pocket, Quilt glared coldly as he charged towards the fat man.

The fat man shot back, “You backstabbing scoundrel! You’re the one who claimed the Moores trusted your appraisal skills! You said this worthless item would sell as long as you vouched for it! You’ve set me up!”

Jasmine watched the two argue with a cold gaze before turning to Charlie. “Please excuse me, Mr. Wade. Thank you for accompanying me; let’s leave. My family will send someone to handle this situation.”

Charlie nodded in agreement. “Alright, let’s head out.”

As they stood up to leave, Jasmine stepped out of the lobby, while Quilt fell to the ground, pleading pitifully. He was clearly terrified and had abandoned any thoughts of harming the fat man. “Miss, please show me mercy! For the sake of all the years I’ve served your family, just spare me this one time…”

Before Jasmine could reply, Travis stood up with a scoff. “Do you have a death wish, you old fool? You tried to scam me and your own master! You were aiming to swindle two to three billion dollars! Do you genuinely believe the Moores will let you off the hook?”

Quilt’s face drained of color, leaving him frozen in shock on the ground.

Travis added, “Even if they did, I, Travis Lane, will never let you walk away unscathed!”

Quilt immediately broke down in tears, collapsing on the floor.

Witnessing the chaos, Jasmine sighed in disappointment. “Excuse me, Mr. Wade. It was a mistake to hire such an incompetent fool; it’s quite embarrassing.”

Charlie responded, “There’s always darkness alongside the light; you don’t need to blame yourself, Miss Moore.”

At that moment, Travis and Matthew from Lancaster exited the lobby, followed by Graham from the Quinton family in Aurous.

Seeing Charlie, Travis rushed over, grabbing his hands enthusiastically. “Thanks to you, Mr. Wade, I’ve managed to avoid being scammed by that idiot!”
