The Amazing son in law Chapter 7487
Tawana sighed with a hint of regret and said, “Honestly, I don’t really want to go back to the United States. It’s just that my family keeps urging me to return as soon as possible. I’m still considering whether I should pick a vacation spot and meet them there instead.”
charlie looked puzzled. “Why don’t you want to go back to the U.S.? Wouldn’t it be nice to return home and be with your family? You’ve been away for quite a while.”
Tawana appeared a bit embarrassed. Of course she wanted to see her family, but the real reason she was hesitant to return was simple: she didn’t want to face her boyfriend, Trevor Kennedy.
Their relationship had fundamentally changed. When one person falls out of love, they instinctively want to distance themselves from the other and avoid contact as much as possible.
Ideally, they wouldn’t meet or communicate for a while—what people often refer to as emotional withdrawal or cold violence.

The best outcome would be if, after enduring a period of silence, the other party couldn’t take it anymore and initiated a breakup. Then she could simply agree and end a relationship she no longer wanted—without even seeing him face to face.
That’s why Tawana preferred not to return to the U.S., or if she had to, she planned to stay only briefly before finding an excuse to leave again.
But she couldn’t share all this with charlie. She was afraid he might think she was the kind of woman who would abandon someone after intimacy. So instead, she feigned exhaustion and said, “It’s really hard to get proper rest in the U.S. The media and paparazzi are always chasing me, even when I stay at home. Honestly, I’d much rather find a quiet place and enjoy a peaceful vacation.”
charlie nodded with a smile. “That sounds like a great idea. If that’s what you want, go for it.”
Then he added, “Oh, by the way, I booked an early flight back to Aurous Hill—it’s at six this morning. It’s already past 1 a.m., so I’ll be heading out in about two hours. Wishing you a safe journey back home in advance.”
Tawana asked in surprise and disappointment, “Mr. Wade, you’re leaving so soon? Why not book a later flight so you can get some rest?”
“No need,” charlie replied with a smile. “I miss my wife. I want to get back to see her as soon as possible.”
Tawana nodded sadly, then gathered her courage and said, “Mr. Wade, let me take you to the airport!”
charlie politely declined. “Thank you, but I’ve already booked a ride-hailing car to pick me up from the hotel. Besides, if a big star like you shows up at the airport to see me off and someone recognizes you, it might spark rumors—something that wouldn’t be good for either of us.”
“…Alright.”
Tawana was deeply saddened, but at that point, there was nothing more she could do. She could only lower her voice and say with heartfelt emotion, “Then I wish you a safe journey, Mr. Wade.”
charlie nodded gently, smiling as he replied, “See you later, Miss Sweet.”
The team’s celebration party continued until 4 a.m. After all, they had just completed 20 concerts in a month—a first in Tawana’s career. Everyone had broken their personal records, received generous bonuses, and looked forward to a long vacation. Spirits were high all around.
When charlie left, Tawana didn’t dare go downstairs to see him off. Instead, she stood quietly by the banquet hall’s upper window, watching from afar as he got into the ride-hailing car.
At that moment, she could no longer hold back the tears in her eyes and began to cry uncontrollably.
Her agent walked over, gently took her hand, and comforted her: “Tawana, sometimes things are just like this. There are always regrets—you have to learn to let go.”
“I know,” Tawana said, quickly wiping away her tears. She gave a self-deprecating laugh. “I know someone like me isn’t worthy of Mr. Wade, but sometimes, you just can’t help falling in love with someone who could never love you back.”
Then, brushing away the last of her tears, she turned to her agent and said, “Please help me find a very quiet resort. After I get back to the U.S., I want to spend one night at home, then leave immediately with my family. Don’t make any arrangements involving Trevor. I only want to be with my family.”
The agent nodded in understanding and said, “If you want complete peace and privacy, free from paparazzi, then only island resorts would truly be suitable. Each island typically has just one hotel, and unless someone is a registered guest, there’s no way for them to access the island. That setup effectively keeps out reporters and paparazzi.”
“No problem,” Tawana replied immediately. “Go ahead and choose the best option. You don’t need to inform me once you’ve made the decision—just arrange the itinerary for me. I want to go back to my room and rest.”
“Got it! I’ll start selecting the best options right away!”
