Chapter 4300
“Patriarch Jiang, the disciples of the Soul Demon Sect are no longer in any serious danger; they simply need some time to recover!”
Kai spoke to Patriarch Jiang with reassurance.
“Mr. Chen, I cannot thank you enough. If it hadn’t been for your intervention, my Soul Demon Sect might have faced total annihilation,”
Patriarch Jiang expressed his deep gratitude.
“Patriarch Jiang, it was merely a matter of taking action; unfortunately, I couldn’t eliminate Di Chong Jing, and I fear he may return to cause you more trouble in the future,”
Kai replied.
Upon hearing this, Patriarch Jiang’s expression grew somber, and he sighed softly, “I never anticipated that my Eldest Brother and Second Brother would join Di Chong Jing and abandon the teachings of our Master.”
“I also regret that, Master, as I couldn’t resist my ambition for greater power…”
“Patriarch Jiang, what exactly happened? How did you and your brothers come to turn against one another?” Kai inquired with curiosity.
“Mr. Chen, it’s a lengthy tale. We all once trained under the same master, a man revered as a formidable figure in the Celestial Realm.”
“Unfortunately, when he finally ascended to the Transformation Immortal realm, a thunderbolt struck him, preventing him from crossing the threshold, and ultimately, he perished…”
“Before his death, our master urged us never to resort to the dark arts. Although practices like bloodsucking and bone gnawing can rapidly enhance one’s abilities, they destabilize the foundation of cultivation, increasing the risk of failure during tribulation.”
“We all pledged to our master that we would never engage in such evil techniques. However, Di Chong Jing defied our master and established the Blood and Bone Sect, preying on humans to fuel his growth, which sparked outrage among many cultivators in Heavenly Demon Mountain.”
“I was compelled to ally with other cultivators to hunt down Di Chong Jing, but regrettably, he managed to escape to the Xiao Dynasty in the Western Region.”
“Now he has returned seeking vengeance, and I never imagined my Eldest and Second Brothers would break their vows and side with him.”
Patriarch Jiang’s demeanor was heavy with sorrow, clearly devastated by the betrayal of his brothers.
“Patriarch Jiang, everyone has their own aspirations, and it’s not our place to dictate how others choose to cultivate,”
Kai noted thoughtfully. “But do you have any idea where your Eldest and Second Brothers might be?”
“I’m not entirely sure, but they are likely still at our old training ground, as they are most familiar with that location,”
Patriarch Jiang replied, then looked at Kai and asked, “Mr. Chen, are you planning to search for them?”
“Not at the moment. I need to head to South End City; my time to accompany Mu Qing in the competition is approaching. Once I’ve dealt with that, I will return to find you and seek out your brothers,”
Kai explained, noting that he had to prioritize his commitments.
“Of course, Mr. Chen; I assume you’re headed toward the Immortal Bone?”
Patriarch Jiang observed, understanding that Kai had been pursuing the matter of the Immortal Bone ever since the incident with Di Chong Jing.
Kai merely nodded in response, choosing not to elaborate further.
After discussing a few details with Ochre Yan, Kai followed Ji Yun as they departed the Soul Demon Sect aboard a zeppelin, en route to South End City!
…………
In a dense forest on Heavenly Demon Mountain,
there lay a vast expanse of white ground. Upon closer inspection, one would realize that the white was not soil but an accumulation of bones!
This chilling area was encircled by dense jungle, spanning several miles in size.
A sinister aura pervaded the surroundings, and within a hundred miles of this place, no demonic beasts could be found!
From a high vantage point, a large hall appeared eerily piled high with ancient white bones, evoking a sense of dread that sent shivers down one’s spine!
