Chapter 4423
“I’m merely using the robberies and lightning for my cultivation, not transmitting them,” the Thunder Beast stated honestly.
At that moment, the onlookers who had been left behind rushed forward. Upon spotting the Thunder Beast standing before Kai and the others, their expressions shifted drastically!
“Thunder Beast? Is this really the Thunder Beast?”
An elderly man in the crowd recognized the creature, his legs trembling in fear as he collapsed to the ground.
In the Celestial Realm, the Thunder Beast had become a mere legend. Few had actually laid eyes on it, and it was said to be exceptionally ruthless. Tales claimed that when its twin hammers collided, they could unleash a torrent of ten thousand thunderbolts capable of incinerating anyone!
The Thunder Beast surveyed the crowd, then turned its gaze towards Kai.
“We’re all in this together…” Kai said.
Seeing this, the Thunder Beast quickly stowed its hammers and clasped its fists together, addressing the crowd. “Fellow Daoists, please don’t be frightened. I have no intention of harming you…”
Relief washed over the crowd upon hearing the Thunder Beast’s reassuring words!
“I’ve heard that this Thunder Beast is vicious, but seeing it now, those rumors must be false.”
“It seems the Thunder Beast is simply fierce in appearance; its nature is quite gentle.”
“If I encounter anyone claiming the Thunder Beast is dangerous, I’ll definitely argue with them.”
With the Thunder Beast proving to be harmless, the cultivators began to chatter among themselves!
Kai, however, wore a faint smile. If the Thunder Beast hadn’t been intimidated into submission by the Little Fire Qilin and the Little Heaven Swallowing Beast, they might have perished beneath that thunderbolt.
“Are we heading towards the Bone Breaking Cliff?” Lin Keting inquired of the Thunder Beast.
The Thunder Beast paused, then nodded. “Correct. I’m curious how you know that the Bone Breaking Cliff lies ahead. Have you been here before?”
Lin Keting stiffened and quickly shook her head. “I haven’t been here; I’ve just heard stories…”
Kai exchanged a glance with Lin Keting, instinctively aware that she had undoubtedly been here before or had received detailed information from someone.
“What exactly is the Bone Breaking Cliff?” Kai asked.
“The Bone Breaking Cliff is merely an ordinary cliff,” replied the Thunder Beast.
“A cliff? But we’re on a snowy plain with no mountains in sight. Where would a cliff come from?” Kai asked, puzzled.
“Although this is a snowy plain, if you continue forward, you’ll encounter a significant fault. This Bone Breaking Cliff didn’t originally exist; it was formed many years ago during a fierce battle between a powerful warrior and a demonic cultivator. Their clash shattered the continent, splitting the snowy plain in two,” the Thunder Beast explained.
“The battle left a fault that created a massive cliff, and beneath it lie countless white bones, which is how it got its name—the Bone Breaking Cliff.”
The Thunder Beast elaborated further!
“Demonic cultivators? Are there still demonic cultivators around?” Kai frowned slightly.
This was the God-Devil Battlefield; after all these years, could anyone still be surviving here?
And who was that powerful warrior?
“The demonic cultivator is a remnant from this God-Demon Battlefield. Although he was ultimately slain, a fragment of his soul remains hidden among the ghastly white bones of the Bone Breaking Cliff.”
“The suppression of heaven and earth here is also a result of that powerful warrior’s actions, meant to curb the strength of any cultivators who enter,” the Thunder Beast added.
“Wow, that powerful warrior is incredibly formidable!” Kai exclaimed, shocked. He had assumed this suppression was established by some great power after the creation of the God and Demon Battlefield.
He never expected it to be the work of an individual with such strength still lingering in this Heavenly Human Realm!
The other participants were equally surprised to learn they were in the Divine Demon Battlefield!
Initially, they thought they were exploring some relics in search of treasures. Had they known it was the Divine Demon Battlefield, many would have likely refrained from entering!
After all, the Divine Demon Battlefield was known for its dangers, which differed greatly from the pursuit of relics!
Meanwhile, Lin Keting listened intently to the Thunder Beast, her expression becoming slightly evasive!
“How do you know so much? Did that powerful warrior spare you?” Lin Keting pressed.
“I was just a snow mouse back then, and I was inadvertently struck by the heavenly thunder generated during the fierce battle. I was fortunate enough to survive and transform into a Thunder Beast,” the Thunder Beast explained.
“That powerful warrior wouldn’t have even glanced at me, so how could he have targeted me to kill…”
After hearing this, Lin Keting fell silent, gazing ahead with a sense of gravity.
