“F-Father, you’re right. I’m hurt and need to rest. Please, let me go.” Bill was in so much pain that he begged for mercy.

In Strequa, strength was everything. Those who were powerful earned respect, and their words held great influence. Basically, they could force someone to do as they wished.

“Mr. Wolfe, I take back what I said earlier. You’re a clever man.” Jeremiah kept a calm face and maintained his smile.

Bill’s eyes twitched with frustration, but he stayed quiet and took a step back. He didn’t want to admit defeat to Fenley; he still believed he could fight. However, he had no choice but to submit to Jeremiah’s authority.

“Father, if Bill can’t handle this, let me step in,” George said suddenly, standing up. His huge, imposing figure was intimidating.

George was stronger and more powerful than Bill. In a direct fight, he was like an unstoppable force.

“Why does this guy look like a gorilla?” Alicia and Aurora exchanged surprised looks.

When George was sitting, they hadn’t noticed anything unusual. But now that he was standing, he was quite a sight.

At over seven feet tall, his massive, muscular body was as solid as stone. He appeared even more intimidating than a bull, and his presence could scare most people before a fight even started.

“Mr. Burroughs, let’s not jump to conclusions,” Jeremiah said with a smile. He raised his hand to stop George. “We’re here for a meal, not a fight. Let’s keep things calm.”

“Father, you don’t need to step in. A few martial artists from Dragonmarsh are no match for me,” George growled.

Jeremiah didn’t respond. He walked over to George, placed a hand on his shoulder, and gently guided him back to his seat.

Then, Jeremiah turned to Fenley and the others with a smile. “I apologize for my son’s eagerness.”

The friends got a little too excited. “Please forgive their impulsive behavior,” Jeremiah said.

“Hmph! You’re only apologizing because you lost, right? Why didn’t you do this earlier?” Aurora replied, clearly annoyed.

If Bill had won the last round, things would have been different. This apology felt more like a sign of fear from Fenley, a way to avoid more problems.

“You have a saying in Dragonmarsh: ‘Friends are made through conflict.’ My friend was just trying to have a friendly sparring match. If we upset you, I hope you can forgive us,” Jeremiah explained calmly.

“Father! Why are we apologizing? We should just—” Bill started to argue, but Jeremiah shot him a stern look that silenced him immediately.

“You seem reasonable. Since you’re owning up to your mistake, I’ll let this go,” Fenley said.

He then warned, “But remember, if you come to Dragonmarsh again, you better follow the rules. The Celestial Alliance won’t put up with troublemakers.”

“Oh? Which elite member of the Celestial Alliance are you? What’s your name?” Jeremiah asked with a friendly smile.

“I’m Fenley Hudson,” Fenley replied coolly.

“Ah, you’re Sir Hudson! I’ve heard a lot about you,” Jeremiah nodded, surprised.

Earlier, Bailey had shared a list of Dragonmarsh’s top talents, including those who could threaten their chances in the tournament. Fenley was one of the top names on that list.

Now it made sense why Bill had struggled so much; he had faced a tough opponent.

“Let’s skip the small talk. Remember my warning, or you’ll face the consequences,” Fenley added.

“Thanks for the reminder. I’ll keep my friend in check,” Jeremiah said with a nod.

He picked up a glass of wine from the table. “Everyone, we’re leaving now.” After taking a sip, he headed downstairs with George and Bill.

“Fenley, I’ll remember you! See you in the battle ring tomorrow!” Bill shouted as they left, still angry about losing to a human martial artist. The embarrassment was tough for him to handle.

Fenley didn’t even glance at him. He chose to ignore the threat; to him, Bill wasn’t worth his attention.

“Fenley, aren’t you going to do something about those guys? They clearly mean trouble,” Aurora said, showing her frustration.

She couldn’t believe how bold George, Bill, and Jeremiah were for causing chaos in Dragonmarsh.

“It’s not the vampire we should be worried about,” Fenley replied, shaking his head. “But that priest is a different matter. If it comes to a fight, we might not fare well.”

Fenley sensed that George, Bill, and Jeremiah had bad intentions. However, the seemingly harmless priest made him uneasy. In a confrontation, the outcome could be unpredictable.
