An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2292
“Fenley, watch out!” Aurora and Alicia yelled at the same time, shocked by what was happening.
They never thought Bill would have such a strange ability. After he was turned into a cloud of red mist with one punch, he quickly reformed and launched a surprise attack. Defending against such a deadly move the first time was almost impossible.
Bill’s fangs carried a paralyzing venom, and bites from noble vampires were even stronger. Even a top martial artist would struggle to resist just one bite.
“Pathetic trick!” Fenley said without looking back. He shook his body, and a huge divine shadow flickered briefly behind him.
Suddenly, a powerful shockwave burst forth. Fenley’s hair stood up, and his robe billowed around him.
The shockwave sent Bill, who had been attacking from behind, flying several feet away. He slammed into the wall and fell, looking disoriented and messy.
“That was a close call!” Aurora and Alicia sighed in relief after seeing what happened. They were grateful that Fenley had the Four Elements of God’s Technique protecting him, or he could have been in serious trouble.
“Damn you! I’ll drain every drop of your blood!” Bill shouted, furious about his missed attack. Surrounded by swirling red mist, he looked like a demon.
“Go to hell!” He spun around and transformed into a red whirlwind, charging toward Fenley.
Vampires had incredible resilience, allowing them to recover quickly from even severe injuries. Because of this, Bill fought recklessly, trading blows without worrying about his own safety.
He could take many hits and keep going, but just one hit from him could be deadly for his opponent. This unyielding resilience was what made vampires so terrifying.
So, defeating a powerful vampire was nearly impossible without a special weapon designed to counter them.
“Fury of Wind God!” Fenley shouted as he saw the scarlet whirlwind approaching. Losing his patience, he activated his strongest move, the Four Elements of God’s Technique.
He trembled with energy, and a huge shadow of the Divine Specter appeared behind him. With a swift motion, he raised his hand and struck at the incoming whirlwind. At the same time, the Divine Specter mimicked his attack.
A loud roar filled the air as the attack exploded with energy. A giant shadow of a palm, brimming with destructive power, surged toward the scarlet whirlwind.
The wind howled as the palm shadow passed, sending energy swirling wildly. Sharp blades of wind sliced through the air, cutting like metal. They formed a tight net that shredded the scarlet whirlwind apart.
“Ah!” A scream pierced the air as Bill was thrown through the sky, as if hit by a freight train. He flew dozens of feet away.
Just as he was about to crash through the window and out of the tavern, Jeremiah appeared behind him and caught him.
“Mr. Wolfe, you can’t defeat him. It’s better to step back and recover,” Jeremiah said calmly, patting Bill’s shoulder.
Even with the vampires’ strength, Jeremiah understood that Fenley was stronger. Bill’s attempts were in vain since he couldn’t land a hit on his opponent.
“I won’t accept this defeat! I’m going to kill him!” Bill gritted his teeth, his face twisted with anger.
His suit was torn and soaked in blood, with wounds all over his body. He was a mess, barely able to stand.
Fortunately, being a vampire allowed him to keep going. If he were human, he would have already been dead.
“Mr. Wolfe, fighting isn’t just about brute force. You—”
“You need to think carefully. Given how you are right now, it’s better if you don’t get involved anymore,” Jeremiah said, shaking his head.
“What? Are you saying I’m not smart enough?” Bill’s anger flared at the remark.
“No, that’s not what I mean. I’m not insulting you. I’m just stating the truth,” Jeremiah replied with a smile.
“You—”
Before Bill could finish his thought, he suddenly felt a surge of intense energy from Jeremiah’s hand on his shoulder.
The heat was overwhelming, like being on fire, and pain shot through him instantly. Thick black smoke began to escape from his skin, accompanied by a sizzling sound.
“Ahh!” Bill’s body shook with pain, and his face contorted in fear. His earlier anger and frustration vanished, replaced by a deep, chilling dread.
He remembered that Jeremiah was feared in the Strequan underworld. Jeremiah had strength that matched vampires and controlled holy magic meant to fight dark beings.
Bill realized that standing up to Jeremiah could lead to a fate worse than death. He knew he couldn’t afford to cross him.
